Okay, so here's my first question for the group….

 

Can someone explain a bit more about the carnivals?  I've read several, and notice they often have a theme.  How do you determine who's going to "host" one?  Do you publish a topic, write a related post on your own blog, and them submit?  Does the hoster of the week's carnival pick from many submissions?

 

Just curious, thanks!  I know it'll be a long time before I can host, but I'd like to be as participative as possible.

Hi.  In general, people volunteer to host.  Many carnivals like to see that you have submitted your own posts to that carnival before hosting.  Each carnival should have a schedule of those who have and those who will host in the future.  I usually write my posts and then choose which carnival would be the best "fit" for the post.  The carnival hosts typically get 30 to 80 entries, though some get more.
