Hey everybody, I have now joined the ranks of those who's comments are being classified as spam. I commented on a ton of Yakezie (and other) sites this week and my comments just keep disappearing. I sent an email to Akismet and to WP-Spam Free, but I haven't heard back from either as of yet.
My normal practice is to check my spam folders as I'm moderating new comments. I would ask that everyone do the same if possible. Please mark all legitimate comments as "not spam". Kevin from Invest it Wisely suggested a few alternatives and upon his suggestion, I installed Conditional Captcha and it is working great to stop this! Basically, if someone is marked as spam, they will be given the opportunity to complete a captcha and you can have the comment approved, and avoid them going into spam.
Thanks!

I just added Conditional Captcha. If anyone has any problems with it, please let me know!
Thanks,

You won't end up on spam on my site :)
I hope you have a better experience with support than I did, Khaleef, and thanks for spreading the word around about the conditional captcha!

Well, I just approved about 20 comments in my spam queue from Yakezie members. I hadn't looked in a while. I should stay on that!

I just found you! Sorry about that – I need to make a better habit of checking on it.

This was the response that I received from Akismet:
Sorry for the problem. I believe it is fixed now. Please note that Akismet is not a
blacklist. Your comments may not be
published on some blogs if the owners of those blogs have indicated they
believe them to be spam.
Well, the problem is still going on. I've sent about 20 emails over the last couple of days asking to be removed from spam folders. Many of these sites I've never been to before. However, I've had a couple of sites that I regularly comment on throw me in spam without the owners knowing!
I even had a case where I was involved in a conversation in the comments, and one of my replies was listed as spam! This is crazy, and I thank everyone who has taken the time to rescue my comments from spam jail!

I would recommend using it along with Akismet. The Captcha only comes up if Akismet thinks the comment is spam, so most legitimate readers won't be affected (unless Akismet hates them like it hates me).

Do you trash comments that fail, or approve comments that succeed?
