Let us share how often we check our visitor stats and what should be our optimal frequency.
The reason is now a days I have become too much obsessive about all kind of blog related stats and ranks. I won't hide, I check word press stat every hour, some times more than once per hour. And google analytics around 10 times a day.
I check Alexa, moz, Google webmaster, Money crasher and wise bread list every day.
Think it's too much and help me reduce that by sharing your number..

Don't feel bad – I'm the same way! Any time I get bored, I check my Wordpress stats on my phone. I have the Alexa and moz toolbars, so I get to see those a couple times a day. I always look at Adsense, Analytics, and Webmaster Tools before I go to bed.
I think it's an illness! But I have heard that it becomes less tempting to check over time. :)

I check wordpress dashboard pretty much all day long. It's there so might as well see it when I log in.
Google Analytic – 1-4 times/day depending on how busy I am.
Moz & Alexa – I don't check these anymore. It's listed on the Yakezie Blog Network page so I can see it there.
Wisebread – Once a week. They update every Monday.
It's all good.

I used to check everything multiple times a day but now I check Adsense once every 1-2 weeks and Analytics every 2-3 weeks. It's helped me concentrate on the important stuff like writing, replying to comments, and commenting elsewhere.

I check way WAY more than I should. I am addicted to sitemeter. I should delete it from my chrome toolbar. As it is just a click of the button I see it 1-2 times an hr or sometimes even more when I am bored. It is real time, so there is always something new even if I go there every 15 mins. Other stats I don't check often Alexa, Moz rank is in the tool bar so I see that a few times a day. Adsense, flexoffers and other sites for revenue, I check at least once a day, mostly twice. Money crashers and wisebread I check may be once a month.

I definitely used to check way too much. I will check Sitemeter maybe once a day, mostly because I click on the bottom of my site. I check Adsense almost everyday and Analytics maybe once a week. I've tried to get more disciplined to check less frequently and focus on the things to get those stats higher.

I've been all across the board on checking stats.
At first, I was checking more than I should be, in my opinion at the time. Then, I decided to check infrequently, like every week or so. That seemed to work fine for a while.
It still probably does work fine, but now I check Google Analytics every 2 days on average. Just in case anything looks funny, or I get a big surge from traffic somewhere, I want to know about it soon. That's it though. Other stuff seems of marginal to no value to check too much, other than being addicting:)

I check WP stats first-thing whenever I log-in, and that is multiple times per day. It's important, I think that makes it ok to obsess over, within reason.

I check my basic stats on dashboard everyday. I look at my in-depth stats on Webmaster Tools and Analytics about once a month.

Used to check them so much it wasn't productive on all my sites. Then I made a commitment that every time I checked them I would have to use the stats productively. Basically, I'd log in, check stats, review SE visitors, and see what very simple edits I could make to 1 page to boost my rankings/traffic. Good way to solve overactive stat checking and boost traffic.

I check my WordPress stats several times a day. Alexa I check everyday. I used to check Google Analytics all day every day, but I'll probably check that about once a month going forward.
It seems constantly checking stats does more harm than good. You're probably not getting as much traffic, page views, etc. as you're hoping for. Especially since you're putting in considerable amounts of time working on your blog. So, instead of being encouraged you feel the exact opposite. Plus, you get distracted from the tasks that actually improve your stats.

Let's just say too much and leave it at that!
I will check things like sitemeter often to see if there are any traffic bursts I should know about, like a link from a site; also to see that traffic is normal.

I'm also addicted to my Wordpress dashboard, but I know those stats aren't really accurate. I'm trying to get better at looking at it less often, but I love charts!

Gosh! I check my stats like everyday! I tried to stop but it's pretty addictive.
But I typically use the stats in a good way. For example, if I notice a recurring incoming search term I will write a post with that term. So at least it's a little productive. :)

It would be very easy for me to check way too much since I'm at the beginning and the swings tend to be greater as my site gets more exposure. Fortunately for me, I'm frustrated with how each analytic uses different rules and therefore reports different results so I really don't bother all that much. I don't even log into GA anymore, but like so many others, the WP dashboard is right there and the Alexa extension is always sitting in my Chrome browser so those I look at those every now and then.

I probably check my Google Analytics stats 3-4 times a day, which is waaayyyyy too often. I really need to only check it once a day max. This is the sort of thing that should be viewed once a week or so, and then plan what you can do the next week to make the numbers better. I'll have to work on this (much like the rest of you)! ;)

I see my Alexa rank every time I look at my computer. To be honest, I didn't have a clue what my google analytics meant but some of the bloggers here have discussed their traffic pattern, it has been easier for me to spot my own patterns.

Ha! I'm trying soooooo hard to not check them more than once a week but I end up checking them 5-6 times a day! I check my wordpress stats the most because I'm constantly on the blog, and analytics for recent posts a little less often. Alexa once a day. It's addicting when you're making progress; frustrating when things aren't making progress…
