I must apologize to each of you. As I look at my Yakezie interactions over the last few months, I've realized I don't feel like I'm "selflessly promoting others" enough!

The only things I do consistently are RT's (which also shows up on Facebook) and comment on 3-5 blogs a day most days. But I don't think it's enough.

I really need some help/suggestions about how to do a better job of promoting members/challengers in other ways!

I've signed up to host a few carnivals- but most of those dates are months away.

Several of the blogs I subscribe to include "link love" at the bottom of every post or at least one designated post each week. Is there much perceived value in that? Don't random post/blog links seem a little contrived?

I like to do link love on Fridays. It let's me promote those blog posts that I really enjoyed throughout the week. I always enjoy reading other blogger's link loves as I usually will find a new blog or two that I want to check out.

Agreed. I do it as well every Friday or Saturday. Usually I combine it with a 1/4 to 1/2 length normal blog post (something I want to talk about but that doesn't deserve an entire post dedicated to it), and it also gives me a chance to mention the Carnivals I was included in. Looking at other bloggers link love posts allows me to discover new blogs that I hadn't found yet, and hopefully my posts do the same for others. Its also a great way to say thank you to a blogger for writing a particularly good post as links are currency in the online world. I think its important to not just link back to anything or at random – I only include links to other posts that I have actually read (and usually commented on), and I link back to them because I think they are worth reading.

Just start visiting the sites of the new challengers (like me!) and leaving comments.

If you like articles, RT them or better yet, include them in your round-ups.

That is the best way to help :-)

I think the others gave great suggestions. You can also offer to guest post, host guest posts, participate in the blog swaps, try to up how many posts you comment/tweet/RT, etc.

I do a Sharing Saturday if for no other reason than to let other bloggers know that I like what they're doing and that I appreciate the fabulousness of what they write. I don't think there's anything contrived about it.

Thanks for this forum.  I am new to the Yakezie challenge and am understanding what blog promotion is all about.  I love the idea of Link love.

The interest & desire is definitely there. Time is always a factor. Perhaps I'm over thinking this…

Don't be too hard on yourself Dave.  Most of us have been there at some point and have not done all we could for many reasons.  Yakezie Members and Challengers are not here to judge one another, we are here to learn and share.  You will get out of Yakezie what you put into it…

I seem to get on a roll and then everything falls apart when life happens. But I just keep doing more when I can, and the minimums when that's all I can do. We appreciate your support and your desire.

Dave,

I do like link loves, as I find that when I visit another person's link love, I find new reading material, and by doing one I can show my fellow bloggers that I enjoyed their content.

If I like a blog post, I'll tweet it or Google+ it. I comment on a LOT of blog posts a day.

You'll get back into the groove of it!
