I have no issues with Tony as a person, we worked fine together, and I was happy to do the advertising for him…but I didnt give him permission to use my emails either. Much like a poker hand, I dont like to disclose my negotiating strategy, and wish my offers for his site weren't publicized…as Im sure the others feel the same way.

I'm surprised by the reaction about the offer deadline. Giving an expiration time/day for an offer is a basic negotiation strategy/tactic. Real Estate purchase contracts usually include "time is of the essence" or some other similar phrase to indicate the seriousness of an offer.
Interesting…

Just catching up with the threads. Wow! I don't think Tony will reply here anymore, at least with the same name/account, but he will probably read it. I am hoping all the replies here makes him think and change his ways. Entrepreneurship at 15 yrs old is no joke but this attitude is a very serious short coming. Age is not an excuse for immaturity esp. at 15.
If you are still reading Tony, let me add my 2c.
1) I have bought 1 site and I get 1 offer a week to sell my site. Let me tell you I would have never paid more than $1000.
2) Nothing personal but the age of the site is a very very important factor.
3) All the question Corey asked were very valid. You should given those details even without asking if you wanted a higher price. Selling text link is always a risky business. What other method of monetization were you successful in? Affiliate marketing? Adsense? any other CPC model? With very little non-blogger traffic and only text link monetization is severly limiting.
4) And if I was Andy I would be livid that you posted all the links and prices. Do him a favor for doing you a favor by buying you off and remove that post. Do you know anyone can report the site for selling text links? Google gets half the sites by user submission. I wondered who would be jobless enough to report a site for selling text links or anything for that matter until an advertiser threatened a blogging friend of mine. With your history with SPF, you might very understand that advertiser. So I am surprised you didn't see that you are providing all the details for someone to destroy the site? I am hoping beyond hope that is not on purpose.
5) Setting an expiration time for an offer is standard business practice. If you cannot understand that you will have eat a lot of losses. Turn the table around, if the buyer delays the settlement for a weeks and during those weeks of negotiation for some weird reason your blog became a PR8, would you have sold for the same price? I am sure you would have increased your price at least 10x.
6) Emails are private. Period. Sharing it public by itself is not illegal, but if it cost me significant money (for example, if I bought your site and your public proclamation of selling text link cost my PR), yes, I can sue you. More than anything it is common courtesy to not share something private, if they wanted to share the offer, they would have shared in online. If you didn't notice, all of them do have online presence.

The decision to purchase Investorz Blog from Tony was made in haste and I'm starting to regret it. I'm not pleased with Tony's actions after selling the blog to say the least. I still think it will be a profitable investment though. I know many of you are unhappy with Tony but I hope that none of you would hold that against Investorz Blog since that would only hurt me.

You did nothing wrong here – I don't see why you should be negatively affected. Actually, you gained a reader (me) as I will now visit this site whereas I wanted nothing to do with the site, or the site owner, prior to the sale.

Andy, I can understand how difficult this must be for you. If I can help in anyway (guest post, promotion or whatever), please feel free to ping me.
I'm sure other Yakezie members would be more than willing to lend a hand.

You did nothing wrong. In fact, I am another reader that you've just gained. I don't think that what Tony did is going to be associated with you. You are not him. Don't worry about it!

Just my opinion, but you might want to take a long look at whether he remains on your staff. Goes to credibility of the site.

I second what everyone has said, Andy. Let me know if you need any assistance. I will be glad to promote the blog. Hopefully it is just off to a rough start and your intuition is correct–it is a good investment. We are all here to help you.

Thanks for the support everybody. Tony will no longer be writing for the blog although there are still a few posts of his scheduled that came with the blog. I will be writing posts for the blog myself and have a Yakezie member lined up to staff write if I decide to go with a staff writer. Thanks again for the support.

Glad to hear it! If you need any help with advertisements let me know…I dont normally solicit my services openly, but by all means drop me an email if you need help with advertising, or even tying up loose ends from prior to the sale. I have a spreadsheet full of data on your site!
