Hello Friends!

I've been thinking of various ways to come up with the right Member and Challenger contribution content for Yakezie.com and perhaps I've come up with a solution, which needs your input.

Most of us really enjoyed reading all the Yakezie Member Posts that went up the months of September, October, and November.  It was a chance to learn more about each of us and share stories that go beyond personal finance.  Beta Challengers will get to share their Member Posts starting Feb 1, 2011 given our 6 month Challenge.

I've found that great stories are what keep me coming back for more on a particular site.  And, when I can't get enough of the story, I am propelled to then click on the author's own site to read some more.  What would be great is if Yakezie.com had content that told great stories around a certain set of topics once a month.  Enter the Yakezie Scholarship essay questions!

The Yakezie Scholarship one of the key initiatives of the Yakezie Network.  Our entire premise is to selflessly help others.  With the deadline for the first scholarship coming up Mon, December 6th, i've come up with an idea for us to lead by example with the Yakezie Scholarship initiative and provide themed content throughout the month as well. Members and Challengers can write an essay that

addresses one of the scholarship questions themselves on Yakezie.com that will go up the 2 or 3 weeks before the applicants essays go up (Member/Challenger essays 1-20th of month and applicant essays 21-31 of month where we vote and announce the winner). That way, some of the applicants who don’t know where to start have some examples as guidelines.

The Scholarship questions can be more diverse to include topics on financial planning, debt stories, triumph stories, lifestyle etc to encapsulate our three pronged theme of: Personal Finance, Lifestyle, and Scholarship so that students and non-students alike can share and think about pertinent topics and learn!

I'm not sure if we should attempt for Yakezie.com to be the best personal finance network site that only talks about personal finance and lifestyle as the space is very crowded.  Or, perhaps we differentiate ourselves by being the best personal finance network with the best stories on Yakezie.com from Members & Challengers that will help readers go to your site respective sites and learn more about you.

I think I’ll write one of my own Yakezie Scholarship post to help blaze the trail this week!  Please share your thoughts.

Sam

ps I should probably make this a more formalized post this week.

Regards,

Sam

Should I write a new post then?  I can use the one I've submitted already elsewhere if you'd like and write a new one on the Yakezie scholarship questions.  What do you think?

Sounds good. I was wondering what the topic would be for the next posts.

Thanks.

Hunh, interesting ideas.  Are we still thinking about writing example posts for the scholarship contests?  If so, what are next topics coming up?  Given how many entrants we're getting, I don't know that we need to encourage them to do more, but it's an interesting thought?
