I don't have a Facebook page. In fact, I don't really like social networking, but I'm on Twitter. So, does Facebook work in sending traffic to your sites? Is it worth the investment of time?

It was really great when a post went viral, but on a day to day basis I don't see a lot of traffic from it. Maybe 10-20 referrals a day. I have a plugin that posts all of my Facebook stuff to my Twitter account, so I only interact with Facebook.

I have facebook set up and automatically post my post summary to it, but that is my extend of facebook usage. Just a couple of days ago, I liked all the yakezie members who had their facebook page listed in the facebook thread and I usually like/friend when facebook recommends someone to me. I have it because everyone else does :) In terms of traffic I get may be 1-2 referral every 2-3 days. I know you are more active on twitter, so you can set it up to post all your tweets in facebook too, which might bring in more to the conversation from the facebook users and in turn some traffic too. One day, I will learn my way through all the social media thingys out there…

I also get about 10 referrals a day. This is consistent traffic, and sometimes I can get a conversation going on Facebook. I think it is worth it because the time investment is minimal.

Facebook is definitely worth the 30 min or so it takes to set up! You can automatically link your RSS feed to it. I get about 10 facebook visitors a day. If you need any help setting it up, let me know!

I agree. It is not a lot of traffic but it is something.

Jacob,
Honestly, I could use some help with this. I have a page ready, but I have not invested the time to find out how to link my RSS straight to my page. I imagine it's fairly simple?

I get between 5 and 10 hits from Facebook when I post…not too much. But it does give me an additional way to connect with readers.

It's not a lot of traffic for me either, but I like having a facebook presence.

Every time I link up my post on Facebook and write something about it, I get a rush of traffic (much more than I do with Twitter). I love Facebook.

I'm not getting anything from facebook now. :(
I set up an auto post, but probably need to be more active on there.

Facebook is tough. I think that very few people have really discovered how to use Facebook properly. Most people just add tons of people to get their numbers up, but that's about the least effective thing that I can think of. I've not yet cracked facebook, but I will keep it on the radar. We automatically send posts to it, but we've yet to really engage. On a good day we'll get about 10 views from it, but ordinarily it is between 0 ad 5 visits a day. It's worth the little bit of setup considering everything is now automated and I don't have to login.
Thanks,
Timothy

I use Networked Blogs – an app I found in facebook and it seems to publish our articles for us.
That being said, we have a measly 68 "likes" and seem to get 0-3 hits a day from FB.

I get a lot of traffic from Facebook, but it is not automatic. It is all through leveraging my real social network. When I launched my personal blog I got over 50 views the first day from my Facebook friends.
The biggest day ever on my Israel blog I got a link from a high profile Facebook page. It brought in about 7000 hits in a day if memory serves.

I've only had a blog page on Facebook for a few weeks and so far I'm not impressed. I'm sure I would have more fans if I "came out" to my real life friends, but only a few of them know I blog and NONE of them know the title or URL. So for now I'll let it sit, and eventually maybe things will get more interesting.

Sandy, I'm oprating at the opposite end of the social networking spectrum to you. I have a FB page, but no tool to collect email subscribers. How essential is the email subscription to the success of your blog?
Facebook is my single best referral source…but by blog is brand new.

I set up a facebook page so I could be sure and reserve the same name as I have on the blog and site. I don't know how to automatically post to facebook although I may try the Facebook App mentioned earlier. No one looks at it though so I don't know that it would do me much good right now.

When you set up your facebook pages what kind of page did you choose? I'm struggling a bit with this question. Is my blog a brand or product, cause or community, company organization or institution? What did you choose and, if applicable, what subcategory did you pick? Does it matter?
Thanks!

When you sign up, there is an option for website. I would choose brand, and I think website is under there. I find Facebook to be very valuable for generating traffic and building community.
