I'm proud and excited to announce that I have joined the Yakezie challenge! I have blogged about it here http://www.affiliatehelp.info/…..challenge/
This blog has been going since August 2011 and it is focussed on helping affiliate marketers, although I do go quite wide and write about things such as personal development. My current Alex ranking is 1,843,871 I have been working quite hard on it in the last few weeks and dropped it from about 2.8 million recently.
This is a really new challenge for me. I do earn a full time living online in the hypnotherapy niche. I have partnered up with my brother who sorts the website side of things, and I provide hypnotherapy audio, articles, videos etc. However this is my first solo project!
I literally knew nothing about how to set up and maintain a blog, as this was always done for me. It has taken me a few days just to work out how to put the Yakezie banner on my blog, or else I would have joined sooner!
Anyway I am genuinely very excited to be a part of this, and look forward to selflessly helping others!
Jon

Welcome to the challenge Jon. Do you find the hypnotherapy background helps with the affiliate marketing? I would think people with psychology related backgrounds would have an extra edge in getting inside visitors' heads and keeping them happy. People on here could definitely use more affiliate marketing help. It seems that a lot of people rely more on direct advertising in the financial blogging niche.

Thanks Modest Money. I'm a big believer that anything you learn about anything can help you with anything else in some way. I would say that having a bit of knowledge on the human mind can only help with sales and marketing. To be successful online you need to gain rapport with your visitors, which is also very important for a therapy session. I probably do use some of these skills without even realising it!

Welcome Jon. This is a great place if you write from the heart. The rest is just magic.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. Wise words Jai. Writing from the heart is a FAR more enjoyable thing to do, and I'm sure it is far more enjoyable for the reader too. I did a lot of writing when I was studying for my law degree. This required doing a lot of research, and certainly wasn't from the heart. I have now just about trained myself not to do so much research, and just write about what I know about or what I'm passionate about. Hopefully I will continue to improve in this area.
