During the early hours (6:35am) on Thursday September 29th 2011 lil' SPF entered the world, a healthy baby boy weighing 6lbs 12oz. We had a home birth with a midwife. He and Mrs. SPF are doing very well. We are super happy, super tired and super excited to be parents.
For the next few weeks we won't be writing a whole lot on the site but numerous Yakezie members have sent us guest posts which we will post in addition to the contributions from LaTisha and Miranda every Monday. I will still write our blog update post and our popular monthly link love feature. I am also hosting Best of Money (again) and the Carnival of Personal Finance (Halloween!). This time the CofPF is scheduled and not a last minute fill in (which we've done twice this year). We'd appreciate it if people kept reading our site and commenting as you, the reader, are what keeps us chugging along!
Congrats to you both!!! How exciting.

Congratulations!! Lil SPF is gorgeous and I'm glad he's healthy. I hope you guys decide to write about how the experience was doing a homebirth with a midwife, since I want to do that myself.

Mrs. SPF really wants to follow up on her initial midwife post with her experience in homebirth and with the midwife after-care experience.
All i'll say is that both we awesome and so natural. Yes, I was a bit shocked at what I saw, however, Mrs. SPF was in such a good place it was all worth it. She is 26 yrs old, her first child birth, and after we were at 5 minute contractions she gave birth 5.5 hrs later. The midwives were so proud/astounded/impressed with how well she did. I am too.
