Hey everyone.  I'm kind of lost on something and can really use some assistance/promotion/advice.

On Thursday the sister of my friend from back home was found murdered in her ex-husband's house in Jersey and he took the kids to a motel in upstate NY where, when the police caught up to him, released them unharmed before killing himself.  Needless to say, this  left the two little girls, 5 & 20 mos., without their parents right before Christmas.  Nobody was prepared in any way for something like this so a foundation was set up to aid the family in getting the children taken care of and adjusting to life going forward.

A facebook page was established to give some info on what happened, and there is a donation page set up with WePay.  I'm not campaigning for any donations directly, but I am looking for a little help in spreading the word and maybe indirectly getting some additional help from some of out great readers who are feeling generous this holiday season.  I have already donated (which can be verified at the donation page) and wouldn't normally ask this of anyone except for the really disgusting circumstances that led to this.

And, if you have any ideas on what else can be done to help spread the word please, by all means give me everything you can think of.  I've already shared the pages on my own FB pages, G+, and started tweeting last night but I feel that I can do more.

Horrific.  I'll promote away.  I can't help but think of those babies and your friend's family.  My prayers are with them.

If someone can share it with the local TV news station, that would no doubt focus more attention on it.

Jesus… something similar happened to a childhood friend of my girlfriend. Guy shot the wife and then killed himself, leaving their children orphaned. Sorry to hear about it… Wonder what makes these people crack :S

Wow.  I am so sorry to hear that.  I came in late and just read this.  Call every media you can think of.  Unfortunately this type of news fades quickly so you just have to keep up the fight.

Thanks everyone.  The campaign has been very successful so far and over 1,000 have come forward to help in a variety of ways.

Jeff–it's still open if you want to contribute something.  I think it will stay open until the goal is reached, but haven't heard anything regarding it.
