Good Morning Everyone,

I would like to officially announce that I am joining the Yakezie Challenge to get my blog, Money for College Project, under the 200K alexa ranking.

I believe we are to post our current rankings, and my blog does not even have any data for it to register a ranking yet. I just moved my blog to a new self-hosted domain and am continually working to perfect the design. So as far as my initial rank, we'll assume its over 10million, and start there…

My site is dedicated to helping people (students and parents) learn how to maximize their financial aid, develop financial literacy skills that will aid them while in college and after they graduate, and also how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset that will help them succeed once they graduate.

I work in student financial services at a large public research university, so I know the inside of the system. I meet with parents and students every day to discuss the same things I talk about on my blog. My main goal is to help students and parents make better decisions and to have the tools they need to have a successful future and avoid unnecessary debt.

I've been blogging for a long time, but this is my first real venture into owning my own self-hosted website. I would welcome your critiques of my site, and any advice that you all have gained from your experiences.

I look forward to working with you all, and hopefully writing and receiving some guest posts, as I work towards getting my Alexa rank below 200K!

Thanks again!

Welcome!  I like the basis of your blog, definitely a niche that needs to be filled.

Also, it's good you bought your own domain… it allows you a lot more flexibility, and better to do it now rather than later.

Thanks everyone! I'm really passionate about this niche as well. There is so much confusion around this area, and I hope to be able to shed some light on it.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Welcome to the challenge.  It is a niche that needs coverage.  I read in (I think it was) The middleclass millionaire, that there are parents who actually hire coaches to figure this stuff out.  Good luck with the challenge.

@FamilyMoneyValues  You are definitely right about the financial aid coaches issue. I actually have an interesting post designed to address that exact issue. Thanks!
