Good stuff!  How big is the BlogHer network btw?  Could you provide a brief bio of it and how it works?  Gracias!

I can't speak for melissa, but the traffic has been less than great.  However, it's a big site, so the link itself is very nice.  Also, with it being a holiday weekend, not sure that is helping the traffic either.

Either way, it's a great honor to Melissa.  She's a great writer, and I sure do appreciate having her on my staff!

Thanks for the compliment.  I will agree with you that traffic from the post to my site has been minimal.  :)

Hi, Sam.  I know BlogHer is a huge force for women bloggers.  They have an advertising network (that I have applied to twice and not been accepted to :)), though I know some bloggers on this site are part of the advertising network.  They also have several conferences yearly–BlogHer, BlogHer Food, BlogHer Handmade, etc., that are in California.  The BlogHer.com site has an Alexa rank in the 5000s and a PR of 6.

Hi Melissa, what are the requirements to get accepted?  I'm surprised you haven't got in twice.

thx

I don't really know.  I just know I went on their wait list for advertising and never heard from them.  Now I am actually glad I didn't because their ads must appear above the fold, and they have strict rules about other forms of advertising on the blog.  I am not sure how they found my post that they featured; they just contacted me out of the blue.

Okie dokie.  Well, as you know I'm thinking about creating our own ad network here at Yakezie, and of course you will be included if it happens :)

Just need to come up with the most crystal clear presentation of what we want to the developers, find the right developers, and pay the right price.  Hopefully we'll have things going come Jan 1, 2012.

Congrats Melissa!

I think I saw BlogHer ads on Miss T's site … might be wrong, but I recall something about some ads.  May be good to touch base w/ her Sam.

Melissa,

They may contact you soon. They featured my blog in their money section for a week and then a few days later sent me an email to join BlogHer ads. I had signed up and was on the waiting list for about a month, I think once they pick you up on their radar they invite you.
