I know that there is a lot of talk about FinCon (Yes, it was awesome!) I was wondering if any of y'all have attended any other conferences (for blogging, social media, etc.) and what you thought? Did you get anything out of them? Are they worth the price?  Any better than others?

fincon11 was my first. But, judging by the experience, it won't be the last.

I also attended the Savvy Blogging conference and found it worthwhile, though I have to say that FINCON did top it.

Next year there will be a Canadian conference.  I absolutely hope I (or we) are selected to attend.

There's also a huge one in LA (I think) called BlogWorld coming up.

I've heard good things about the BlogHer conference. You might check in to that one.

BlogWorld Expo is supposed to be pretty big.  So is SXSW.

I attended Affiliate Summit East this past August.  I didn't have a pass for the sessions (expensive) so I only saw all of the affiliate exhibits.  It was kind of like a flea market for advertisers.

I've been to BlogHer (twice), Blissdom, Savvy Blogging Summit, Shecon and Fincon.  I have an Expo pass for Blogworld in November.

I love BlogHer and have a blast there but it's not to learn; I network there with brands and other bloggers.  Without a doubt, Savvy Blogging Summit and Fincon have been the two best conferences for content and I will attend both again.

FYI, JD Roth is speaking at next year's Savvy Blogging Summit which is where I first met him last year.

I will be attending blogher, savvy blogging and fincon next year as far as blogging conference goes. I also have the expo pass for blogworld. I will be attending WDS12, but that is not really a blogging conference.

I have been to BlogHer, fincon and bought Savvy blogging recording. FINCON was by far the best investment, savvy blogging was not bad for the content. BlogHer was just pure fun. Networking and swags :) I didn't learn much there though. So far, I have never regretted these 3 choices.

If you're looking for more on these subjects your might want to check Linkedin. They have lots of groups dedicated to SEO, social media, etc. I joined one yesterday!

Thanks for listing some of the other conferences guys – good to know. I'm planning to attend the Canadian personal finance conference next year and hopefully FinCon too. Too bad it seems they will be so close together.

I hope they change the dates away from Oct. 1 next year because I always have plans every Oct. 1.

Hi Kay!

It seems like there are a lot of advertisers to schmooze with at Blogher conference. Do you have to be a Blogher member to go?

I'm thinking of starting a conference savings account to save money for conference passes and expos. I've heard awesome things about BlogHer and BlogWorld (coming up in LA in November). SXSW may be a tad overwhelming if you haven't been to many conferences before. Lots of people, not as much of a community feel as FINCON.

See, I was hesitant to even link up my blog-life to my linkedin professional life… I should probably start a new thread for that, but what a great idea!

Aside from FINCON, the other one I've always wanted to go to is SXSW.  It's not necessarily a blogging conference, but I know there are lots of bloggers that go.  Plus, it always sounds like such a good time!

No, you don't have to be a BlogHer member or even a female.  J. Money was there this year partying with all the women.  About 10% of the bloggers there are men.
