Hi guys,

Most of you know me from Free From Broke but I also run another site – Parenting Family Money.

I thought I had PFM in the challenge already but I guess I never officially declared.  So here it is: Parenting Family Money is in the Yakezie Challenge!

I created PFM because I wanted a place where I could do a little more with family/parenting subjects than I could on FFB.  The site itself is actually a couple of years old, though I haven't always kept up a consistent posting schedule.  That's changing now.

I posted about the challenge as well as mentioned a few sites in a roundup here: http://parentingfamilymoney.com/575/yakezie-challenge-and-links/

My Alexa for the site is about 558,000.  I'm sure I can get that under 200,000 in no time, especially with the support of Yakezie behind it.

I'm looking forward to interacting with newer sites (and everyone really).  Yakezie has grown so much from its early days, there are so many new sites I haven't been able to keep up.

If there's any way I can help out with anything, let me know.  My 'door' is always open, so to speak.  Drop me an email through either FFB or PFM.

Thanks guys!

Thats good news that you finally decided to let come to challenge. Your main blog has grown so much.

Are you sure you like that background color on PFM?

You mean that red/orange-like border?  It can go.  I have a few upgrades, at least, that I can do.

What color do you suggest?

It doesnt look red/orange on my computer it looks like salmon.  Not a color that is appealing to the eye, said in a non disrespectful way. Laugh  The overall layout of the site flows nicely.  I like the logo and the Family in different font.

Keep up the good work.

I joined a few weeks ago.  I had malware on the site today so most the day was occupied taking care of that, so I wasnt online too much today.  Wheew i got that taken care of what a pain.

Congrats Glen…

I can't speak for OCAT but yes the color is a bit off. Color needs to draw you into the blog and not away from it which is what your blog color scheme is doing.

Yes you should be below 200k with that blog in no time.  I agree with everyone else that you should probably change that salmon color.  It is much too distracting.  It's tough to say what to replace it with though.  I think you'll just have to do some trial and error and see what works.  Ideally you'll use a main color scheme throughout your design.

Sooo, salmon out then?  OK.  Thanks for the input everyone. [Now I have another project to take on...]

And thanks for the March Madness shout.  Of course I'm up against a tough Yakezie site.  I have no problem losing to a great site and article though.
