Hello all fellow Yakezie challengers. I am planning to start weekly round up with best posts from the challenger network of blogs. If you want to be included , please send me email with your blog name. I will subscribe to each of yours feed and prepare the weekly round up.

Sorry this time it's exclusively for challengers, not for members. I hope this doesn't break Yakezie spirit.

It doesn't break my Yakezie spirit, lol.  But I am wondering why Challengers seem to be getting more Challenger-exclusive?  It doesn't hurt my feelings or anything like that, but isn't it easier to succeed if you get reciprocating links and stuff from bigger blogs?  When I was a challenger, I tried to participate with the bigger blogs whenever humanly possible.  Just a suggestion from someone who is still trying to hang out with the big boys and girls, lol.

you make perfect sense to me. But if I go on writing weekly round up, won't that defeat the purpose of carnivals?

What do you mean?  I write weekly roundups AND participate in carnivals.  It's a great idea to spread your name even faster and help others.  Am I misunderstanding the question?

And no, I do not think this is against the spirit of the Yakezie.  It is very helpful to new Yakezie members, which is great!  I think the spirit of the offer is awesome!

I was simply pointing out that it is funny that when I was a challenger, we were trying like nuts to promote bigger blogs so they would notice us.  Now it's a little more big fish vs little fish.  I was just wondering if there was a benefit to this that I was missing?

Well that's silly.  I didn't mean to put a pause on anything, sorry.  Come on challengers, sign up so I don't look like a big bully!  I was honestly just asking a question I had on my mind for a while, lol.

You seem to be asking what I wanted to ask and it seemed silly to repeat it again :)

I think it's a good idea.   It's easy for challengers to feel left out.   It's why I made the Beta Challenger search last year.

Jason, I agree it is a good idea to focus a little more on challengers but in general it is good to mix things up. No interaction between the different "classes" is not a good idea. This is not just directed to One Cent, I think Crystal's comments and mine, we are talking about an increase in general about more challenger-exclusive offers. Not upset/complaining/bullying/hurt or anything like that. Just as the discussion was already established, I am adding to it to offer what worked/working for me. Linking to ANYONE is awesome and totally aligns with Yakezie spirits…

Looks like now that it is too late in Texas, I have taken the bullying part (j/k Crystal) Cool

I do not feel the need to have a special "challenger" post round up. I do not do round ups on my blog. My blog is just different. However, I do give love. I just wrote an Ikea post and highlighted 11 different bloggers with links to their respective blogs. I love having guest posts and feature bloggers that way as well.

I blog on elegance and personal finance so not every post is going to be of interest to all personal finance bloggers. (I was floored that I received comments from PFB on my "unmentionables" post.)Thus, I am not usually mentioned in round ups. I am fine with that.

I will say that if you a) post in the forums b) frequent other Yakezie blogs c) write good content, you will get traffic.

My slight frustration with some of the blogs is that either a) I am completely unfamiliar with the subject and cannot post an appropriate comment or b) the post is SO long I think I have developed ADD and cannot focus long enough to read enough of the posts or c) there is so much stuff (ads, etc.) on the blog that it is visually difficult for me to focus

It is 1:30am here, but I'm still tuned in, lol.  I just hope there are some signups so I don't feel like I hijacked the thread.

@Super Frugalette, would you like to guest post at BFS?  That would probably help expose your writing to at least my group of readers.  Just so you know, I do truly appreciate your comments on my site!

If this doesn't work out for you One Cent, let me know.  Sorry.

Crystal…I would give you some of my great coffee if you were here. I sent you a guest post last week regarding my update from Maryland. Perhaps you did not realized it was attached.

Hahaha!  You are very right!  I did not realize it was attached (I thought you were still writing it) - I was actually trying to figure out a subtle way of asking about it.  I just searched my gmail and found it.

Gosh, I really hope there aren't more people out there waiting for me to publish things that they attached and I didn't notice on my smart phone…

Anyway, it is received now. Laugh  I'll email you with its scheduled posting date.  Thanks!
