I read that folks should offer affiliate links for various programs they are using.
Okay, so a few days ago I signed up for Erica.biz's Blog Setup Affiliate program. Full disclosure: I earn $50 for each person who signs up through my link, which is here:

This is what I understand about this program. Erica uses Hostgator, and she gets a kickback for every site, so she is passing on a portion of that to affiliates. From the site:
It can be intimidating to set up a blog with all the proper plugins. We understand, and we're here to help.
When you click "Get Started", we'll walk you through setting up a
new web hosting account with HostGator. HostGator hosts over 2,500,000
domain names, and is one of the top web hosts online.
Once you sign up for a web hosting plan (starting under $5 a
month!), send us your information and we'll set up your blog for free.
HostGator pays us to refer you as a client, and that pays for our staff
to set up your blog–at no additional charge to you!
If you want your own blog on your own domain name, you have to
sign up for a hosting account anyway…you might as well get a free blog
out of the deal, right? :)
We will include WordPress plugins that optimize your blog for
search engines and help you manage your blog better. Then, we'll send
you some free videos so you can get started blogging!
Now as to how this works for the Yakezie. You tell me what is the best way to handle this. I am willing to donate 10% of any Yakezie that sign up under me to Sam/Yakezie.
Or perhaps Sam should sign up the Yakezie for its own account and rake in the dough for scholarships.
