The market is so all over the place lately, I suspect that shorts are paying out quite well! I'm not in the market too much lately, but am always interested in tracking it! :) Thanks for the update.

Im heavy in dividend stocks, so even though Ive lost some money in the past few weeks, its nothing gut wrenching by any means. My 401k hurts more than my Firstrade account.

I feel the same way. The 401k is really hurting though!

I'm only invested in the stock market through retirement accounts. Since retirement is quite a ways off, I follow the day to day ups and downs of the stock market simply because I'm fascinated with what's going on in the economy.
Lately I've wanted to focus on educating myself more about different investment vehicles. I'm in the process of picking out at least one book that'll discuss basic to intermediate lessons on investing.

What sort of book are you looking for? Stocks? or alternative investments? My blog is geared toward beginner investors and I am running out of content ideas :)
I did a survey when I first started and most people answered stocks but second place was split between the other asset classes. I need to beef up the options content, I know that would probably be an interesting topic.
Thanks!

I haven't decided which book I'm going to purchase, but I've sent a few samples to my Kindle to review. One that I'm particularly interested in is the Boglehead's Guide to Investing. Not sure if it'll provide what I'm looking for, but I'd like to learn more about investing in dividend producing stocks, ETFs, REITs, and bond funds.
