I don't see any explicit proof that having the Alexa badge on your site helps w/ rank. It is observational data, written in 2006 (dated).
When I had the badge all I was doing was adding another link to my site. No one clicked it from the analytics metrics and hence they did not download it via the badge.

Hands down the best way to improve alexa is to get people with the Alexa toolbar installed to visit your site….. So go get commenting on Yakezie blogs and doing what the Yakezie is best for :)

I can verify it doesn't work. :) It only makes your site a tiny bit slower, that is all it does.

Good to know. I'd read somewhere that it supposedly helped lower rank too. I'm still going to leave mine up though. Motivates me to keep working hard. :)
