Free Money Wisdom has breached the 200,000 mark!  It's been a fun road, and now I have my sights set on 100,00!  It's been tough work getting here, but my fellow Yakezie friends deserve a loud round of applause.  It was all of YOU who made it happen.  Thank you for the support!  

I started the challenge on March 12 at an Alexa ranking of 652,867.  As of today, I'm sitting pretty at 194,843 and still dropping!  Free Money Wisdom has been up since December of 2010.  The blog has grown to 170 FB fans, around 540 subscribers, and 676 Twitter followers.

Please tell us your secrets!

Thanks guys! It's been a blast.  I've lost a lot of sleep over the past couple of months though lol.  Hmm as for secrets, I think a big one is having a budget for marketing and advertising.  I work full time so I was able to really promote online as well as off-line.  I even printed 1000 business cards and placed them in Starbucks, restaurants, and grocery store parking lots.  It came down to getting my name out whenever possible.

Another tactic i used was to outsource social bookmarking.  I have a guy who bookmarks my links to 200 social networks, so this helps for spreading the word about the site.

Also, I've used blog commenting.  It's not only been a significant traffic source but it's been a great way to connect with other like-minded people.  

My next initiative is to work on my content and write more guest posts, it's something that I've been lazy about to be honest.

I have two preferred outsource workers on Fiverr.com.  I usually spend between 5 and 10 bucks a week for over 200 quality bookmarks.  I also combine that with my own manual submission to 10 personal finance related networks.  hope that helps.  If any of you haven't heard of Fiverr, head over to their site, you're missing out.  You can get some cool things done like videos and logo design for a measly five bucks, pretty cool stuff.

Congrats!  Like everyone said, those are some impressive numbers.  Funny, I've used Fiverr and wrote about it, too.  One of my most popular posts.  I asked for logo designs.  May need to consider this social media outsourcing you mentioned.  Continued success!
