I recently read Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. It is a true story and probably the best book that I've ever read.

I personally love the whole "In Death" series by J.D. Robb (homicide detective in the mid 2030's).
I also highly suggest the 3 books in "The Hunger Games" series by Suzanne Collins. That series is darker but very good – set in a post-war world where one colony rules the others that are left by keeping them poor and hungry. Every year, that one colony holds a battle to the death for children ages 13-18. The series is about that annual battle and what happens when a couple of kids don't play the game as expected.

A favorite non personal finance book of mine is "The Giver."
Probably my favorite personal finance books are Stocks for the Long Run, A Random Walk Down Wall Street, and Smart Couples Finance Rich.

Mine's Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child! (Don't watch the movie – doesn't do any justice to the book!). Absolutely awesome thriller!

Anna Karenina (Tolstoy), Jane Austen anything, or A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens). These are great!

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho changed my way of thinking about the world. It is by far the best book I have ever read and the only book I have read twice.
Also a fan of the "Hitchhiker's Trilogy" and a handful of finance books.

I'm a sponge for how-to kinds of books. One of my all-time favorites is You Can Negotiate Anything, by Herb Cohen. He's got a very entertaining style.
Just for fun I generally like anything by Bill Bryson.

Let's nerd it up a little: Securities Analysis, anyone?
Could read that book like a bestselling novel. I couldn't put it down the first time I opened it up.

The Conrad Richter trilogy: The Trees; The Fields; The Town are fictional accounts of early American life on the frontier. I read them again and again.
My picks for non-fiction wealth related books are on my site under the Resources/Books tab.

I was also going to suggest "The Hunger Games" series. It's really good.

Some that come to mind: Dune, Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead, Neuromancer. I've been wanting to re-read Waterhsip Down (gotta be the BEST book about bunny rabbits – really).
Fast Food Nation really made me think differently about the food we eat.

Ooh. All good books that I reread on a regular basis…except Watership Down. I've never read that.

I've seen Food Inc. I think it's Fast Food Nation meets Omnivore's Dilemma (another book I want to read)?
I found Fast Food Nation went into great detail than the movie. It's also a great business book read as you learn about the rise of companies like McDonald's and Disney (to some extent). It's pretty fascinating to see how McD's has grown.

I agree that Food Inc. was interesting. I have to read Fast Food Nation. That sounds good from Glen's review.
