Other than that, I can continue to use this line on women: "What, you never heard of me? I write a blog that's in the top 70k on Alexa and have been mentioned on the Consumerist and Yahoo. I'm practically famous!"
#WINNING
I have had more luck getting girls from the DJing than the blogging. Maybe I have been targeting the wrong crowd? Is #FINCON12 the Match.com for finance bloggers?
I've never even tried it for real, but I'm thinking it may very well work! People love celebrity, especially women in Miami

I love the sharing of new ideas. By reading other blogs, I learn something new every day. Reading other blogs often gives me inspiration for my future posts.

I blog for many reasons, all of them motivators. I enjoy the sense of community in our online network. I like to create interesting content, whether it's visual appeal or an opinion, or a resource, I like to add value in some way. It helps my sense of worth.

Creating a web site is the first endeavor I've tried where I don't have some expectation about where it's going. This is exciting. It's uncertain if I can make money with it on its own, but this may lead to other opportunities that are currently unknown.

Motivation should be internal. You have to enjoy what you're doing.
That said, I'm a big believer in time off, real time off with no work issues. Focusing on nothing is the key!

To me it is doing what you like to do and seeing the growth and the unlimited potential.
However, it is not always easy to keep this in mind.
Post from other bloggers about how they have developed and grown their business are very inspiring.
I liked this "Blogging Solves Mid life crisis" post on OutOfYourRut from a few days ago.
Keep sharing how you have been growing, and keep it real.

I remind myself about when I used to have 2 jobs and played in a band, and never had any time to myself. What I am doing is far better. However it is probably not healthy to just focus on the negative what used to be, so I think I will find some pictures of villas with swimming pools next to the beach and place them round my computer!

Excellent question.
For me, I blog for an audience of one…meaning, I write to express myself. Since communication is the goal, and I want people to actually read what I write, I have to keep the readers in mind.
Passion is a great motivator. A pursuit of excellence is too.
I actually have a blog post coming out Monday on this very topic, called 'An Audience of One'

A lot keeps me motivated to blog, because it's more of a hobby rather than a chore to me. But, I guess my readers, myself, and the fact that I've come this far – I should just continue going! But, mainly, the relationships I've made throughout the way

For me it's part of a long term 5-10 year plan. Over that period of time I intend to build a proprietary trading firm. A big part of that is acquiring capital, which I'm working on. But another aspect is finding talent. For various reasons I intend to train employees rather than hiring people with trading experience. In order to make that work I need training materials, and Off-Road Finance is in part a repository for that. In that sense it's working out well.
A secondary goal is to create literate conversations about trading and finance, as a means of helping my readers and furthering my own education. In that sense it's working out less well – my first attempt of building up a forum was a complete flop – other than a few favors I called in, no one posted. Plan B is the standard blog comment support – I'm just trying that out now, so we'll see how it works, but so far it's a tad better – there's been one interesting discussion.
If the topic of trading interests you, by all means stop by.

What keeps me motivated? I publicly announced my goals at the beginning of this year, and one of those goals was to post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have stuck with that all month. If I give up now, I have a lot more to lose. I will lose my credibility, respect, etc. I don't want to go there. Plus, I'm inspired to see my stats each day and to see new comments. It lets me know that people are listening and I'm invoking some sort of discussion. That's why I make a point to visit a few new blogs to comment and provide that extra encouragement for new bloggers so that they don't feel like they are talking to themselves…that's a lonely existence…

Unfortunately right now what keeps me motivated is that I'm unemployed and throwing all my work ethic into the blog. If/When i become employed? Hopefully then the community of great people supporting my blog will have grown, and I'll look forward to interacting with them. Otherwise it'll turn into a journal of nonsensical musings…we don't need more of that; that's what Facebook is for!

It keeps me motivated to know that if I keep writing, my writing will get better. Also, everyone who leaves comments keeps me motivated. It's so much fun! The other motivation now is that I want my blog to be much, much better by the time I land at FinCon12!

If you feel burned out definitely step back and take a break. If you blog a couple of times a week cut back to just once or twice. If you only blog once or twice a week cut back to every other week. Life ebbs and flows for me and sometimes I'm much more interested in blogging then others. In those times when you are really into it I suggest writing posts and saving them for a rainy day. That way you can always pull some out of the coffers when you aren't in the mood. Some days I can write 10 posts, other times I can't come up with a topic for days. Take advantage of the days when you are most interested and keep them in unpublished form until you need it.

My main motivator is my compulsion to write. If I go a day without writing something, I feel like something is missing.
I'm also motivated by my readers and all the new blogging friends I've made. I need to keep improving if I'm going to even think about hanging with some of my favorites. Like American Debt Project said, the more I write, the better I get. And since I want to get better, I use that as motivation to keep practicing!

It started as an outlet to write and keep myself accountable. Now I have several motivators:
1. I believe people should eat better and it's good to share my experience/assistance to make that happen.
2. Due to health issues I don't get a lot of interaction with the general public, which stinks because I'm a social butterfly, so blogging provides a great community.
3. We are considering starting a family next year and I would like to monetize my writing to pay off debt and provide additional income.
I'm sure there's more, but that's just off the top of my head.

Here are my reasons:
1) I love helping people.
2) I enjoy writing.
3) I love keeping myself accountable.
4) I love learning.
5) I love the community.
