I recently discovered how much I enjoy blogging. Here's the full story (actually 2 stories)…
It was just a few weeks ago that I admitted to being a personal finance blogger (I had already shared it with close friends, especially via facebook) in a group setting. I actually identified myself as a personal finance blogger and it felt good. :)
Then, I knew it was serious when I thought of how I wanted to include my recent passion for blogging in our Christmas letter. Only the big stuff usually gets included, so when I realized that this was going into the letter, I knew I found a new hobby (if not more than a hobby!)
Just thought I would share – anyone else had similar experiences?

I knew I was a blogger when one of my friends pointed out that I talked about my blog stuff like other people talked about their kids…

I am operating under cover, no one including me knows yet that I am a PF blogger. Not sure when i'll feel it, but the feeling is neutral right now. I am a technologist and a blogger, more a technologist than blogger. I guess it depends on how satisfied you are with your job vs blog..and the type of job you do.

You're a blogger when you do it to the point that it's second nature. None of that once a week or regularly for a couple weeks then nothing for a month (like I did when I started out). You don't have to be a problogger or be making significant money from it to be a blogger, just being consistent and treating it like more than something that you do whenever you feel like it.

…when every time someone brings up an issue or topic, you respond with either, "you should start a blog about that" or "want to do a guest post on my site?"!

HAHA. So true. I keep telling my wife that she should start a blog – she keeps telling me that it's my thing, not hers. haha.

No one knows about my blogging except for my husband and my very close friend. I am not ready to come out yet.

When people often interchange my name and 'Money Beagle' (or 'Beagle') in general conversation, I knew I had crossed the line (and quite happy about it!) :)

Get out of my head!!!. I would like to add you know you're a blogger when you can be in a conversation that is unrelated to your blog and suddenly turn it into a blog post. Or if you walk around with a notepad to jot blog ideas down.

Haha, love all of these responses!
I think that you know you're a blogger whenever a person complains about money or not being able to find a job, you ask if they've used a blog or social media to help get their name out there and tell them success stories about bloggers making careers out of their own work, or finding work from their success blogging!
You know you're a blogger when you're having ridiculous conversations via Twitter about posts or current events (like when you're at Target and have to comment on the crazy Missoni line they had!)

OR, when your Dad asks you what you want for Christmas and you say something nerdy like "I'd really like to hire a graphic designer to redo my logo, or maybe a better microphone for Skype and vlogs" only to get a quizzical look and then suggesting an Amazon gift card!

LOL. I want weekends off so I can go visit some of the bloggers I met at FINCON. I am seriously telling my inlaws to give me coupons to use for dog sitting.

When the first thing you do in the morning is check whether there are comments to respond to and last thing at night is to visit with other bloggers for a chat on one of the platforms. Also, I suppose, telling everyone about it.
It took me some time to make the transition from 'secret indulgence' to 'open abandonment' but it has happened.

You know you are a blogger, if you always find a way to mention it in a conversation to anyone who will listen.

When Darren Rowse, Ramit Sethi, Seth Goodin, Leo Babauta, Chris Guillebeau, and Tim Ferris are bigger celebrities to you than any Hollywood actor/actress.

Now I feel like I'm a pretend blogger – I only know one of these people on your list.
