As most of you know, we are a pretty new blog and we are dealing with some things for the first time. This includes dealing with advertisers.  I've got some great advice from some bloggers so far, but I wanted to know if there is a general rule of thumb about pricing on ads. We are certainly interested in doing sponsored posts. We'd also be interested in posting sidebar or banner ads as well.

On a side note, when posting a sponsored post, should we announce that it is a paid advertorial feature…or should we just say that it is a guest post? What is proper?

Thanks for everybody's input!

You can send me an email as well if you'd like.  We try not to discuss too much here on the public forums.

My general policy is to give them a number and see if they bite. If they respond with a no, a week later, I'll ask what their budget is. I figure getting less than the going rate is better than getting nothing.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon
