Building a Profitable Ecommerce Website

I know may Yakezie members tuned into a recent webinar on building  a profitable ecommerce (online retail) as a side business.

I had posted some weeks back about my own experience with ecommerce going back 6 or so years when I started, grew and sold an ecommerce business for $250,000.  I have sold a few other websites to date, but the ecomm business takes the cake in terms of cash out value.

Ecommerce is a fun and exciting business model, especially when you can offer a product that is high in demanded for a price much below the popular competition.

That said, not everyday is a sunny day in ecom land. Though my business was successful, there were several challenges that came my way.  I have written extensively about it to hopefully forewarn others who are interested of the potential downfall.

If you are interested in this business model, anticipating the challenges ahead of time can significantly increase your chances of success, and cause less headaches while you build your business.

I wrote part 1 of the post a few weeks back as a guest blogger on a popular Australia based blog, and part 2 have just gone live as of today.  You can access both parts here:

Because of previous success, I am highly interested in pursuing this model again. I have some great ideas (I think) in mind and will materialize them with time.

Anyone toying around with ecommerce? How is it going for you?

My friend and I are actually looking to start up a e-storefront for a business idea we've been considering. Thanks for the posts
