Those who work full time somewhere else, how much time daily do you put into your blog? Do you even work on your blog every day? Do you try to post every day? Every other day? Do you have a schedule? Just curious to see what other bloggers are doing.

Recently, I've been trying to post three times a week.  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I do have a full time job and kids and pets and etc., so I can't put a whole lot of time into them.  Maybe an hour every other day or so?  That's somewhat flexible depending on if my muse strikes at an odd hour or whatever.

I post on Budgeting in the Fun Stuff every day, 7 days a week, Crystal Clear Thoughts on M-W-F-Sat, and It's a Dog's Life For Me on M-W-F (oh, those are my 3 blogs).  I also am a staff writer for Sweating in the Big Stuff every Wednesday and I guest post all over occasionally as well.  Yep, I'm a full blown addict.  :-)

My full time job is Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm but the work comes in a few waves a day, which means I can do blog stuff in between the waves (that's about 2-3 hours a day).  I also blog Monday through Thursday evening for at least 2 hours and at least a few hours on Saturday and Sunday.  Friday night is usually my night off although I will do stuff if plans fall through.  Most of my social life is during parts of the day on the weekends.

I'd guess I spend at least 30-40 hours a week on writing posts, replying to comments, reading other blogs and commenting, keeping up with the Yakezie, and submitting to blog carnivals.  I'm looking for a new job so will probably have to cut out that 15 hours while at work if I find something…

I don't have a set schedule, but if I don't have posts scheduled at least one week in advance on BFS, I will spend a part of either Saturday or Sunday catching up.

Now that all of that is in writing, I must sound like a complete bore.  I really am fun in the real world too.  My husband and I board game, hang out with friends, host potlucks, cook, and visit family.  I'm a slight bingo addict as welll and we take as many vacations as possible (which is 2-3 a year…one biggie and a couple of weekend trips).

So yeah, that is Crystal's life…what does yours look like?  :-)

I have 2 blogs and I usually post 3-4 times a week in both blogs. It usually takes a lot of time for me to write stuff (I am saying this because the same stuff people can come up with in much less time I guess). I work in a challenging full time job, 9-7~ so I write 4 hrs every evening, except Friday. And I spend the weekend day time doing blog stuff (writing, reading books, researching). Every other Saturday morning I volunteer somewhere.

So except Friday evening, and weekend evenings (+ every other sat morning) I pretty much spend all my free time with my blogs…Totally I spend 30-40 hrs I should say…Yeah I don't have a life other than my husband, my career and my blogs Embarassed

I totally understand that it takes longer to write stuff. I suspect that I take longer than most bloggers because English is my third language. :-) So, I write fast when inspiration hits me but I take forever to edit and edit and… edit. :-) On the weekends I spend most of my time blogging and writing and researching because that's when I have time. During the week, it is on and off. I work full time and my work is not just from 8 to 5 but more like from 8 to whenever I can get out at night. :-) I put about twenty hours into my blog.

Wow! It sounds like you have two full time jobs – a real job and blogging (another real job). I post twice a week on Weds and Sundays because due to my work and the fact that English is my 3rd language, I need quite a bit of time to write and edit. Mostly edit. My work is pretty intense most of the time, and it is very difficult for me to write/blog during work. I use my lunch hour either to go to the gym or write. But sometimes I have to work through my lunch. Surprised After work if I have any energy left, I do my blog stuff: answer comments, read other blogs, comment, research. Most of my writing I do over the weekends and I do some of it in advance too! If I don't write in advance, I will be way behind my posting schedule.

I love bingo too!Wink My husband and I are home buddies and that helps with blogging! LOL We love taking vacations too! Life would be horrible without some time off! Laugh I think I put in about twenty hours into my blog.

I use to have 3 blogs but it took way too  much time out of my day.  Now I just run my pf site that has been live for 2.5 years.  Unfortunately I didn't put a lot of networking or promotion into my site in the past and am paying for it now.  I have sinced focused entirely on this site (Passive Family Income).  I try to post Mon-Wed-Fri and will add an occassional Saturday post for roundups, etc.

Trying to balance two kids, family, sports, and a full time job along with this blog is why I only post 3 days per week.

I have no idea how people can manage 2-3 blogs at a time. I probably would not have time to sleep. And I need my sleep. Laugh Posting three times a week is very reasonable. I hope one day I will be able to do it.

Yeah, if I had kids or a job that required 50-60 hours of my time a week, my schedule would change since I like my sleep too, lol.  I'm trying to turn my blogs into full time jobs which is probably why I put so much time into it all.  Good luck Aloysa!

Hmm…I tend to blog in spurts, a few times a week. I might write two or three in one go, and I'm usually scheduled a week ahead. I work a 40-hour week, and I usually manage to get in most of my blog-reading during the day and some commenting.

I post on a M, W, F schedule but I typically write next weeks posts over the weekend, and proofread them throughout the week.  In all, I probably spend about 6 – 8 hours a week on the blog between proofreading, responding to comments, writing posts, finding copyright acceptable images, finding people that have linked to me and communicating with other bloggers.  I hope that helps :)

I work full-time and volunteer as the tresurer for an orphanage in Haiti. I put in about 20-25 hours each week on my site. That includes writing, promoting, reading and commenting on other blogs, developing the site, researching about making money, and promoting other sites.

I post Monday through Friday, and I spend about 5-7 hours a week writing, plus 30 minutes or so a day doing other blog-related things.

I don't spend as much time as I'd like on my blog, but probably do spend 10-20 hours a week including reading other blogs.

My posting schedule is Su, M, W, F with an occasional post thrown in on another day.

You all are machines! I post Mon-Fri, but I have ZERO posts in my queue. I find an hour at night or during the day to write my article and post it up for the next day. I don't think I could just write for 3,4,5 hours straight. Seems like I do things a little differently.

Oh, I don't write for hours straight, my posts just take less time now.  Once I start getting into a writing mind set, it takes about 1 1/2 hours for every 2-3 posts and that's all the writing I do at one time.  My guest posts and staff writing posts are usually more detailed and take about an hour or hour and a half each, but that's not the norm.  :-)

After reading all posts I am thinking that I am not posting often enough. Maybe I should switch to three times a week. You know I never realized that blogging can be very time consuming until I got into it. It is a lot of fun but it does require a lot of time too. And determination. And patience.

I used to do M,W,F,Su – but then I entered a challenge to post every day for 30 days and my pageviews more than doubled during those 30 days. Now I do every day except Saturdays (I sometimes sneak those in as well).

It's a lot because now I just started as a staff writer for Redeeming Riches.

I wish I could have all this time to write every day. But then I think – would I have ideas to post every day? Sometimes I am afraid to write myself out… if it makes sense. But most of the bloggers that I met do post pretty often. oh well… I will try three times a week, see how it goes.

I post Monday through Friday, typically writing 30-45 each night. I try and spend 30-45 minutes a day on other blogs reading and commenting as well.
