I tweet new posts just once right now, but am thinking of increasing that to include other times of the day.  How often do you tweet new post?

I read somewhere that to maximize traffic, you should tweet something 3 times…I don't do that, but thinking about it as well.

I tweet them each twice.  Once when they go up (usually around midnight) and then once in the late morning at 11am or so.

Good question. For now, I only Tweet my posts once when they go live (at 4:30am….), and this definitely isn't effective. I would consider Tweeting them later in the day as well. I think that's a good idea.

I tweet an article up to three times a day, changing the script slightly each time. I don' think my strategy is successful at all. Maybe I'm expecting too much from Twitter? Maybe no-one actually reads their Twitter feed? I find it very successful when I include others in my Twitter posts.

I usually just have my posts piped automatically to Twitter. I probably should tweet more than I do!

I found a cool tool: http://whentotweet.com

It looks through your followers and their tweets to tell you when most of your followers are active.

I have my tweets set to auto post once a day.  However, when I submit my posts to reddit and digg, I then retweet them with that link as well. So in a way you can say twice.

Once a day, when I get to it in the morning or evening. I'm not getting a lot of traffic to my blog directly from Twitter, per GA, so maybe this something worth thinking about a little bit.

JT – thanks for the tip on whentotweet, I'll have to check that out.

To be honest guys, Twitter is a terrible source of traffic, kind of useless if you ask me.  I would recommend tweeting twice and calling it a day.  You're just not going to get much traffic from Twitter unfortunately :(

I would figure that three times a day would bring in quite a response.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong? I also have less than 100 followers. I should run a Twitter promotion to get those numbers up.

I usually Tweet them once when I publish them, and then maybe again through my Facebook feed. I'm not too successful at converting tweets into traffic though.

I have to get better with Tweeting. My Fat Guy articles are tweeted as soon as they are published thanks to Networked Blogs. However, for my main site, I sometimes neglect to tweet the articles at all.

I usually tweet my posts once a day and I use a plugin called twitter tools. It works really well if you want to give it a try.
