Back in March when Google updated their algorithm, I lost my PR of 3 and went to a 0. I was flummoxed and upset. However, after working on a redesign, looking into why weird sites were linking back to me, and resubmitting to Google (oh, and asking them to reevaluate my site – or should I say begging), I'm finally back to a PR of 3!
I'm relieved!
Anyone else recently get boosted up in PR after getting knocked down?

Congratulation! I sent in a reeval request recently and they still didn't me off the hook. I guess I'll have to wait until the end of the year until I remove all banners to resubmit again.

I actually couldn't get the back links removed. I e-mailed some of the spam "owners" and asked them to stop linking to me, but I'm guessing they don't really care or don't use the email address on file. I emailed Google and requested they revisit my site and they must have done that since they took me off the "black" list of whatever they called it.

I didn't remove my banners. Instead I just submitted my email to Google and told them I wasn't a link farm, basically. I explained the topics I write about and sort of came off as offended that they thought I was purposely creating "bad" links (though I said this politely). However, in the Google email it did say it could take months for them to check my site and get back to me. Instead, it only took a couple of weeks. I just lucked out on that I suppose. I'm sure they'll get to checking your site. Hopefully sooner than later!
