Hi Everyone! I want to quickly introduce myself – I am 'The Savvy Scot' from http://savvyscot.com

I only started blogging about a month ago, but have been reading about 50 PF and other blogs for the last couple of years. I decided that I feel I know so many like-minded people from reading some (quite intimate) posts, I want to share this experience.

As my blog suggests, I am Scottish – but living in London. I am a recent graduate and have very little student debt (Scottish students do not pay course fees), but given my frugal and financially focussed personality, my blog is written around PF and other money saving tips and ideas. I also have an interest in Futurism and Future Trends as well as Travelling, Scuba Diving, Motorbikes, Skydiving, Technology, Skiing and Snowboarding (bit of an adrenaline junkie)!!

Anyway, I have always thought about blogging and I am really motivated to join this challenge – I have a ranking of just under 9 million :D – don't laugh too hard… but hopefully this can be improved over the next few months. I am not trying to make money in this venture (although I dream of a location independant job) – I am simply trying to find more like-minded individuals in my quest to make a difference. I live by the fact that life is all about the journey and not the destination - I also love the following tagline:

I am the start of a difference; out to break stereotypes, boundaries and states of mind

Anyway, bring on the challenge :P

@WorkSaveLive – thanks :) – your site looks amazing! Very simplistic and pleasant on the eye. Did you pay for the template or design it yourself?

Thanks, Scot! I paid for the template. It was $75. I'm not really sure this is okay to post this stuff, but you can check the My Setup page on my site and it talks about the stuff I used to create my site.

I think your site looks pretty good too though. I'm not sure you need to do anything (but I'm a newbie so I don't know much).

Precisely. That's why I wasn't sure if it was okay to share that on here. :)

Thanks @MoneyIsTheRoot – I am thinking of how I can make it look more professional. Are there any customisable templates you can suggest?

Welcome to Yakezie.  Personally I think you should run with the theme you have now.  It looks pretty good in my opinion.  Focus more on the writing and networking to start.  You can always come back to the theme later.  I don't think you joined too early either.  My alexa was at 22M when I started participating here.  It has dropped pretty much every day since then.

Check out my finance blog: Modest Money

Alexa ranking from 22M to under 70k in 3 months

That's good advice thanks – one other question – do you think that writing everyday can have a negative impact on your followers – i.e. do you think that they will find it too hard to keep up and not have enough time to read the posts so will stop altogether? That is reassuring to hear that your Alexa ranking was in the millions at one point too :) – let's hope I can get mine down even half as quick as yours…

I just read that J.D. Roth posted 18 times a week when he first started. If you're posting good content, they'll never tire of visiting your site.

@AverageJoe – wow that is incredible, It wouldn't be a case of quantity over quality, just that my ideas and inspiration are sporadic! – I like your blog and will read more tonight :)

@Dollar D – Nice to meet a fellow new challenger :) – if you ever fancy doing an exchange post (if that's even what it is called) let me know!

Welcome to the challenge. Nice site! I think it's great to join right away, that's what I did. The encouragement really kept me going at the beginning.
