Hi everyone! My name is Brad Chaffee and I recently started a new blog called Beyond Debt Freedom. Some of you know me from my first blog Enemy of Debt.
In 2012 I stepped aside from the management of EOD and stopped writing completely. Many of you know Travis Pizel, my good friend, who has continued to write for EOD. This happened for a couple of reasons but one was because I was also running a year old printing company I was struggling to juggle along with being a stay at home dad to three little ones age 6, 3, & 1.
After being away for over a year I realized I still had a lot to say about debt freedom and a lot more to accomplish as far as my own financial goals beyond our becoming debt freedom in 2009, so the blog was born and here I am.
I think this blog network is great and I look forward to getting to know those I don't know and reconnecting with those of you I do know.
Here is my blog post about joining this challenge: I'm Joining The Yakezie Challenge
I hope everyone has a great Christmas holiday! :D
Cheers!
Brad

Welcome to the challenge Brad! Sounds like you have your hands full at home. I've got four of my own so I know what that's like. I'll follow you on Twitter so I can track you there.

Thanks Brian! Yeah, and they are all at the age of needing constant attention and watchful eyes. lol One year I tried homeschooling my then 5 year old with a 2 year old and an infant on the sidelines. I went bonkers! lol
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the follow! :)

Thanks debtroundup! I appreciate the support and since I've been out of the loop for a while I'm excited to be back in. And my Alexa score dropped much lower than I expected it would so quickly. Now under 7mil. :)
Now I just need to work on my site optimization. Having a few issues with "throttling" or something and that is not even close to something I'm knowledgeable of how to fix. LOL When I started EOD I knew absolutely nothing about coding, html and CSS so of course something else has to pop up to challenge me this time around. LOL

Welcome back to blogging Brad. Feel free to reach out to me any time.
Yours are about the same age as mine. I don't know how you even attempted to home school them. You're far braver than I am.

Haha! Yeah it was tough particularly because of the ages. At the time I had a newborn and a two year old, so trying to homeschool a 5 year old under those circumstances was a challenge. Aside from that though it turned out to be a great experience for Isaac who is now in private school. The one on one time we had his kindergarten year was extremely beneficial for him and now he's in second grade but taking some third grade classes. It was tough but definitely worth it. Looking back I still don't know how I pulled it off. I remember being scared to make the decision to do it. haha!
I missed FinCon this year but I hope to see you there in 2014. Maybe we can share a cab again like we did at Fincon11. LOL That seems like so long ago. :)
