Have a quick question about something, want an extra vote on Digg or Reddit, or just want to chat about something totally random?

Get on Skype and add forest_parks as a contact, ask him to get you in to the Yakezie Skype group. Then save the group as a contact (don't make the same mistake I did and need to get re-invited).

While I might not get on this forum much, it's normally pretty easy to get a hold of me on Skype. Probably because your message pops up on my screen without me having to head over to a site. ;)

The more people that join the Skype group (and set Skype to auto login when windows starts), we'll have a great opportunity to take advantage of another way to help out other Yakezie members.

So join the group and ask me anything… or I'll probably chime in on any conversation going on in the group even if it's not directed towards me!

I'm always checking the group for messages but sadly there are usually none.

I would totally do this but I find I just run out of time. The forums and running my blog has been a lot as it is lately. It is good to know I have the option though when I have a bit more time.

I was slow to adopt it too, but it's pretty cool. It's nice being able too chat one on one with other bloggers and get to know them a bit more… but the group option is really killer. Picture this, we get 10-20 active yakezie members in the group… then if you ever need a quick opinion on something, just drop it in there and get some immediate feedback on it.

Now that I've been using it more often, I even share my screen with people if I need to show them something visually. I also just picked up an HD webcam as I'd like to get into doing some video interviews.

There's lots of time in a day, just do what I do and barely sleep ;)

Seriously though, the extra source of help and information might make it worth your time. Of course you already know you can email me when you want help, but using a skype group can get you a faster answer and multiple opinions.

I plan to get back to Skype in September. Hopefully, things will calm down for me by then.

Joined up!

It may seem like yet another "chore" folks, however, i've used skype quite a bit for gaming in the past.

It is pretty useful to get an immediate response / answer.  Tom seems to be on it quite a bit and trust me, picking his brain can add value to all of our sites.  I'll try to be on there more often as well to espew advice (good or bad!) ;)

I do use Skype for video calls and document sharing but I don't know anything about groups.  Is the group used for calls or what?

Just text chat… same as you can do one on one in Skype, but with a group you can ask a question and have everyone in the group see it. I see we're up to 14 people so you should be able to get a quick answer or opinion on things.

I am definitely up for a skype group. Have been in a few in the past and they can be great with regular participation. Great way to get to know the various bloggers we support all over the globe. This has lead to some great relationships I have formed with people.

Looking forward to my invite.
