Flickr is probably the best free service around.  There are a ton more options if you want to pay, like Shutterstock for example.

I suggest Flickr or Wikipedia. Zemanta is a blogging plugin that appears on your post page when you're writing and can search the web for free photos for you to use too.

i-stock photo – or post a wanted ad on craiglist.  there are lots of brownie points given by google for genuine first time on the internet images

Flickr is good, but you can also google 'free stock photos' for a range of website that provide high quality photographs for nothing. And legally.
