Predicting Stock Market Direction

Recently, amongst my hard drive crash of Aug. 2011 (a date forever etched in my psyche), I've been working on a series regarding predicting which way the stock markets are heading.  In it, I'm trying to help individual investors (newbies and experienced alike) adopt a simple strategy.  I'm focusing on these types of "educational" articles rather than "personal achievement" types because I suspect this is what will be most beneficial, and interesting, to the average reader.

I'd love to have your feedback in two key areas (and any others you want to add):

1.  Does a series like this interest you and do you think it was written well for both the beginner and the more experienced investor?

2.  What type of articles would you find interesting?  Are there certain aspects of investing you'd like to know more about, whatever your level of knowledge or current interest?

Thanks… I appreciate the feedback of this community.

Of course I find this interesting! :)

A prediction on where the stock market is heading is very bold, but definitely a popular topic. I would like to see a short term prediction (3-6 months) and then a longer term prediction (5+ years).

State what your reasoning is, and what might play a contributing factor – ie. Interest rates, worldly news, the fear of society…..

Can't wait for a finished product! :)

Maybe b/c I am cynical but I don't particularly like those types of posts since I usually have a hard time believing them

Being cynical is not an unreasonable response when you get emails promising 1023% increases in only 3 weeks, etc.  Last year, I finished with a 91% accuracy rate… proving an ability to minimize risk and maximize returns.

A couple weeks ago, I posted an actual copy of my newsletter (under sample newsletter) for anyone to see some of the steps I've taken to profit from the downturn.  If people examine the numbers there, they'll find some consistent, reliable results… it's all there for anyone to see.

I think my biggest problem (again being cynical) is why do you do all this? With a 91% accuracy rate why not shut down all the noise, not give away any information and just make your millions

Not a problem… I don't view it as a negative.  I began my website for accountability over a year ago… to be able to show that my numbers were real, not just made up.  Also, I wanted to help others… family, friends, etc. Now, I'm looking to expand this…

I'm interested to see how 2011 turns out… what kind of overall rate I have…

For now, I'm having fun, which is, I suppose, part of the reason I continue to do this.  It's a bobbie… and a passion of mine.  I hope this helps a little.

I invite you to participate.  Read the articles, join the Weekly Newsletter, participate in the conversations, etc. and make your own judgement if it is for you.  Cheers!

I suppose the cynics could do the math… and, based on the published newsletter, they'd see what they are missing out on. Did I "predict" the markets or just prepare investors well for taking advantage of either move?  Either way, people are making money as a result while the markets continue to plummet.
