redirection plugin | Bloggers Lair | Yakezie Forums

I'd like to change the permalink structure on my site from /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html (from my old blogger days) to the simple "post name" structure. There's a plugin called "redirection" that, based on it's description, sounds like it would automatically handle all the 301 redirects for me. Does anyone have experience with this plugin to verify that? Is there a different tool I should be checking out? I don't know if this matters, but there are a few posts where I've manually modified the url so that it's slighly different from "postname" at the end.

You really only need to do it for well indexed posts that pop up on searches regularly to avoid losing that traffic, rather than for every single post.

I can echo this. Redirection works like a charm for this type of thing.

This is the one that I used as well…highly recommended.

I use the .htaccess code generated here.  Works great.
