Hey everyone,

I revamped Retire By 40 and I'd like to get some feedback. Please help me improve my site.

I worked on these over Christmas.

1. updated to Thesis 2.1 – Let me know if I need to improve look and feel. Should I add/remove anything from the sidebar?

2. About page – updated. The old page was very stale.

3. Start here – New readers can start here and go through the "best of" articles.

Also – Should I add a landing page? Not really sure what to put there if I add one. Seems like an unneeded layer for a regular blog.

Important* – Please let me know if you see a white blank page when you view Retire By 40. It's random and I'm trying to fix it. Host is trying to help, but they haven't been able to figure out the issue.

Thanks a bunch!

-Joe

Looks good Joe. The pages load quickly and look clean. The only thing I notice that looks a little dated is your header. Have you ever thought about giving it a fresh update?

Thanks for the feedback.

I have been thinking about a new header. Not sure where I should get it, though. Do you have any recommendation?

Joe,

just had a look – I love it. The site feels very crisp and is fast. As to the 'About' page it is very honest, personal and well written.

Worthwhile effort, I think :).

I don't unfortunately. I'll try to ask around though.

Hi Joe,

Site looks fine. I actually can't tell much of a difference between the two. Funny you should mention blank white screen. I haven't noticed on your site, but that is what I get every time I load FS on mobile now and it takes a while to load. Do you see this on my site mobile?

How were U able to fix it?

Sam

Regards,

I think everything looks good, Joe. I especially like the email sign-up box on your About page and after your posts. Which plug-in is that? As for the "start here" tab, I'm curious if you'll see any search visitors stick around because of that. I don't have much experience with it myself.

I think landing page is something you go when you have a product or two to offer. Else what's the need of a landing page? Your site was always fast Joe, so couldn't tell the difference.

Have you ever thought of having a family picture in the header? Also half beach half water is better than all water, just my opinion, think about it.
