Hi – I just checked out your post and I agree with many of the points you make. I especially think learning the importance of saving and the power of compounding interest are critical life skills that our children need to learn.
I am working to setup a "Daddy Bank" with my oldest son so that he can deposit money he earns or gets as gifts with my wife and I. Our plan is to pay him interest along the way and physically show him how much money he is actually saving and earning at the same time.

They just pay by post. There isn't an incentive PV scheme.

@PFIncome: I've got my kids using a ledger book to track their savings and even take out a line of credit. I write about it on my blog – it's one of my more popular posts, so you can find it easily on the sidebar if you're interested.
@Forest: I see Sam got your answer.
The latest post went up last Friday entitled "4 Lessons I Learned on the Worst Vacation of My Life" (A true story about an incredibly cheap "package deal" trip to the Bahamas I took with my girlfriend.)
