I've been a participant in the Yakezie challenge for 3 months this week… so I thought I'd share several things I've learned and extend an offer to those just starting out. First, what I've learned:
- Skills (how to's):
- Add widgets
- Generate discussion, not just comments (a work in progress)
- Optimize for SEO (I had never even heard of this… now I'm thinking about it at least)
- Create an "a href" tag (no, it's not a disease)
- Change an image size and upload it to a post
- So much more…
- Aspects I've flirted with but not yet mastered by any means:
- All of the above
- How to create a Facebook page (only 4 likes so far I think )
- Social media links (on my page, but still unsure of impact)
- Twitter… scheduling Tweets! I love this feature!
- A contest that hasn't really taken off for some reason
- Contributing meaningfully to others… I feel I have more to receive than give because I'm so new…
There is so much I could say about this experience… One thing I've realized is that my focus is not as widely held as an interest as I thought it would be. I'm surprised how few people engage their investments with thought, purpose, and self-direction… but I'm not giving up on you.
And now for the number… from an embarrassing 2.1 Million Alexa rating to… (*drumroll…) 173,440.
No, I didn't forget to add any zeros… I know… how strange… I never dreamed that would be the case in 12 months, let alone 3 months. So, THANKS! I'm so appreciative of this community.
For those of you who are starting out… an offer… please, contact me. I'll help you with any of the above… as so many have helped me. Just go to my site, shoot me an email.
Thanks everyone!
