Con tickets purchased, hotel booked & flight reserved.

I arrive in Denver around 9:30am Thursday and leave around 3:30pm on Sunday.

All I can do now…is wait.

It will be nice to listen to all the personal stories…in person!

Sometimes I'm an extrovert, sometimes I'm an introvert. Sometimes I'm over the top, sometimes I'm shy. It just depends on the company and the conversation. Hopefully, I can find a nice balance in Denver.

If you haven't purchased your plane tix yet the prices have come down… at least for Atl to Denver by about 100 bucks since last month. I plan to get my flight ticket soon but I may wait another month.

I finally bought my tickets last weekend.  The price had actually gone up a bit, so I jumped on them in case they were to go up any more.

Shop flights on Tuesdays… They are usually the cheapest that they'll be that week. (That's a tip from Clark Howard)

That would be an awesome intro to a youtube channel called "The Eric and Eric Show"… :)

I just heard about FinCon recently, so I am thinking about going. If you went last year, what would you say is one thing that you took away from the conference? By the way, if I do end up being able to attend, I think a Yakezie meetup sounds great!

I attended last year and absolutely LOVED the experience. Overall, I'd say I came home with a renewed sense of inspiration and purpose – I was seriously motivated to do a lot of things differently to market myself and the blog. And once you meet people in person, it completely changes the way you interact when you get back home.

I don't know how to describe it without seeming completely dorky. I would just say, if you have the means to go, you will NOT regret it!

The biggest thing I took away was personal connections.  Suba from Wealth Informatics became one of by absolute best friends after we met in person at the conference last year and I have visited her twice in California since then.  I was able to start a solid acquaintance with JD from GRS and he actually asked me personally to guest post a couple of times.  And it was amazing to put faces to all of the names of my blogging buddies.

Darn,

I was hoping to get to FINCON12 and meet everyone in person.  I prefer personal physical interactions over internet.

Unfortunately, I'll have to pass on FINCON again this year.  I will be on forced bed rest for 4 months and a flight is not allowed.  FINCON is right smack in the middle of this period. Yet another situation of life overriding blogging.

We were joking about FinCon13 in Omaha or Kansas City last week. Cheap places to visit in the middle of the country with a lot to do.

Don't joke – Do it – in KC!!

I am going! I live approx. 75 miles north/west in the foothills. I plan to arrive Thursday around noon, and will be staying in downtown Denver (hotel) through Sunday.

I am SO looking forward to meeting the faces behind the names!

Another Colorado blogger!

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Yes – I live about 30 minutes from Fort Collins… or half-way between Estes Park and Loveland, on a mountain top.

Just an FYI,
I did make the reservation at the conference hotel today, to get the $99 rate.
Although it does take a credit card to make the reservation, they don't
run it until check-in. The 24 hr cancellation makes it worthwhile.
Staying at the conference hotel has so many advantages,
and as any of the Colorado folks can attest, you will have a tough time finding
a rate as good as this in LoDo (Lower Downtown – the hot spot of downtown Denver.)

Here's the link to the latest FinCon update, with direct link to hotel reservations.
