Right on the heels of the last blog swap comes blog swap #6!

I'm your blog swap host for today, right this way folks, don't dilly dally.

If you haven't had a chance to participate in a blog swap let me give you a few reasons why they are awesome.

You get a FREE topic to write about that you didn't have to come up with

You get a to partner with a fellow Yakezie member/challenger

You get FREE promotion from almost everyone who participates and even those who don't

You get MORE exposure to new readers

You get a link back to your blog

And most importantly…

You get to participate in a great activity with the BEST bloggers in the business.

So with that being said this should be the biggest swap yet!

The topic is You are Poor or Homeless, What Would you Do to Change your Situation? I wanted everyone to put themselves in those shoes for a moment and think about what they would actually do to get out.

You can sign up for the swap using the Google spreadsheet link below. Deadline is April 22nd and I will have the partners randomly chosen by that weekend on the 24th.

Also I thought I'd try something a little different this time. Instead of pairing up I thought we could do a chain letter type swap.

Example:

Beating Broke posts at Invest it Wisely who posts at Money in the 20s who posts at Beating Broke. And then at the end of each post we could direct the reader to the next one until they made it back to the beginning. (Which would be different for everyone depending on where they started.) And I would probably break it up into groups of 3-5 depending on how many people signed up so it's not overwhelming.

What do you think? If you're signing up just vote with your preference (swap or chain letter) and majority will rule.

Shouts out to our favorite Thousandaire Cool, Kevin, for hosting the last swap. Here's where you can find the round up of posts.

Great! I just signed up.

I wanted to clarify..should this post be about how we would improve our situation if we were homeless? Like what steps we would take to get out of being homeless?

Or, is it like what lessons we would learn from being homeless that we would apply to our current situation?

Yes it's what you would actually do. If you were homeless today how would you survive or better your situation. Also feel free to write about past experiences etc.

Signed up! I like the chain link idea. It's different and new, and why not try it right? :)

I also love the topic! I used to live in South Florida where there seems to be beggers on every corner! Plus, they are there every single day for years! I often thought, if I were them, how would I get out of that situation? Now, I have the chance to really talk about my ideas! :)

This is an awesome topic…my husband and I actually have a "homeless plan" so I'm stoked to share. Also, I love the chain letter. Thank you!

I'm in as always :)

I like the chain idea. I think keeping it to groups of 4-6 is probably a good idea so we/you are not totally overwhelmed. Cool twist on the idea.

Sounds good. It looks like most everyone is liking the chain letter idea so I will split up everyone into groups of 4 and distribute the pairing by the 24th. Remember the last day to sign up is the 22nd.

What day will the posts go live? They're usually Fridays, which works well for me. Would this by 4/29?

I've been working on an upcoming 3-part series on resources for low-income people in my county and beyond, and the "how I'd get out of homelessness" topic could be a good capstone on it. I'll plan on running it the week before this swap goes live.

Can you clarify the topic for me? Is it poor (living at or below the poverty line but with steady housing – essentially my life now!), or is it homeless? Since the two are quite different, it would help me to know what we're writing in a little more specific terms. :)
