Hi Yakezie community,

I'm a full-time blogger, putting tons of hours into posts, commenting on other sites, blog carnivals, some guest posting (working on more). In the last 2 months I've gotten my Alexa rating from the millions down to 211,000. But my page views are still very low.

I'd love to know your thoughts on my blog. Am I missing something that's making it not sticky?

Even though you are part of the challenges, the Alexa rating is not an indication of traffic … You must have the Alexa bar and it's mostly bloggers that have it.

Your best metric is your search engine traffic. If it grows, your traffic will, if it doesn't you will stagnate. It's also the best traffic to monetize.

I recommend you analyze how the search engine traffic gets to your site and define a strategy to grow your traffic around that. For example, if you have a post that did good, see what you can do about having a similar posts on a tangent topic. You need to think about SEO and what you want to rank for with a strategy.

My 2 cents.

To add to what Passive Income Earner posted – make sure you have Google Analytics (or a similar service) set up, so you can see exactly where your traffic is coming from and what pages are getting visited.

Search engines can be a huge source of traffic, but definitely not the only one. There are many other different ways to get visitors and I would highly encourage you not focus on any one, but build up multiple. If one of them disappears or diminishes (for example, Google changes their algorithm and you are affected), you will still get visitors from other sources.

I use P3 Plugin Profiler to evaluate how each of my plugins perform. I have recently switched all my Table Reloaded to simple html. No processing required during the page load and I found a way to manage my tables easily with some custom CSS for the look (which I simply took from the plugin) and there are plenty of tool that convert tables to html snippet.
