Yeah, I've been pouring through StatCounter and can't find where all these clicks are coming from. I self reported last week and never heard anything. For now I'm just going to take down adsense ads and hope this all blows over.

It might be smart for us to place in a plugin to prevent ads from showing under certain criteria. For example the who sees ads plugin will allow you to show ads to visitors from various criteria such as visits from search engines.
I am going to look into it more but this might be the help to start us off.

Also club thrifty I highly suggest you re-appeal and re re appeal if need be. Write a post about it. Submit it. The only way to prove your innocence (which I am sure you are) is to go above and beyond. Google is tricky that way but why cut off a lifeline even if it's a small one.

Google is notoriously hard to appeal to. If you can figure out where the false clicks were coming from, ensure that you can block the activity, document everything, write an appeal that appeals to G's heartstrings? Maybe. I haven't seen too many accounts of people getting back in, however.
To those who can't find the IP address – 'Account Settings', 'Access and Authorization, 'Sites Authorized to Show Ads'. Turn yours OFF. Set the domain to 'google.com' or something. Self-reporting won't help unless you're blocking and trying to figure it out.
Anyway, after a few days, your Admin page will say "Ads have appeared on pages you haven't authorized". Make sure it's only domains that you expect – your domain, google.com, feedly and other readers, cache sites, things like that. One way to automate click bombs is to simply put your Ads on a third party site – your Adsense ID is PUBLIC (just view source!).
I wrote a script when I was click bombed where I try to redirect potential scammers away from my CPC ads to CPM ones (mostly Lijit.com). I'm not going to post how it works on this Public Forum, but if you're a member, find my thread in the private forum. If not, mail me if you want it. If I post it here, I assume it's easy to figure out how to work around it…

I think PK may be on to something. If you're like me and the clicks in statcounter aren't matching up with your adsense.com account it could be because someone is using your adsense code elsewhere. I noticed I didn't have anything set up under "sites authorized to show ads" So i've changed that to my domain in combination with taking adsense ads completely off of my site for a few days. Hopefully this is the case and Google will figure out if someone is using my adsense code elsewhere which is generating the clicks.

Yeah, you should see them start popping up in a few days if they were moved offsite – if it's anything like me, you'll end up authorizing only a few domains (dqydj.net, yourdayjob.net, google.com, a few other feed readers). As far as I can tell, the script I wrote and messing with the AdSense admin section has stopped the clickbombing for now.

I noticed some strange activity on my site too. I took my ads down and went into my adsense account to authorize sites. I then waited a few days and slowly put my ads back up. So far, so good. But I am scared so now instead of checking my account every other day or so, I am checking it multiple times a day.

I'm still getting a whole lot of weird clicks from various countries. There will be like 3 page views, but 7 clicks from France, Russia, etc. I've just decided to un-authorize my site so that none of the clicks are counted as money until this clickbomb fad runs out. Hopefully, Google will start getting a handle on it!

Don't be afraid to use javascript or php to turn off some of the riskier traffic groups – anyone from countries that are bombing, people using proxies, direct traffic, etc. You can just show them CPM ads in the same spot – I can't see a CPM provider getting mad about false clicks.

Looks like it's been a few weeks since the last comment in this thread, which is likely a good thing!
Has everyone noticed that the clickbombing attacks have stopped?
I just checked my adsense history, and for the last week, the clicks all seem legit. It might be time for me to turn back on the ads and start making some money for the clicks again!
Do you all think we're in the clear?

Looks like Google took away $20 in invalid clicks from April – not as bad as I thought it was going to be. My clicks are still higher than usual, but it's possible that my search traffic has increased a little. Crossing fingers that it's over!

Google took away about $50 worth of clicks from me, which I suppose is better than banning me outright.
Of course, now I haven't seen a click in over a week which is unusual on the opposite end of the spectrum. I really have no idea what's going on with adsense anymore, I just want things to go back to normal.

It's good to hear that Adsense didn't simply ban people! I'm taking the plunge and reactivating my adsense ads. Thanks for the input! Hopefully, this s**t-storm is behind us! haha

Things appear back to normal for me ever since I took my ads down for a few days and then put them back up. I was dreading checking my email every day for the one where Google would ban me. Luckily they didn't. They just took $70 of revenue away.
Now my clicks are legit, but I seem to be averaging less than I was before the click-bombing attacks started. Oh well, just glad I didn't get banned.

I'm not sure if I'm going to put all of my adsense ads back up. My affiliate earnings were a little better than usual last month when I didn't have adsense. I'm thinking that visitors might click on the affiliate ads more if they can't click on adsense ads. It only takes a couple extra affiliate sales to replace my adsense earnings.

I lost 7 cents worth of income. Hey, that was an entire day's worth of clicks! It looks like my CPC is starting to rise back up to normal, plus my 5th highest click ever (those multi-dollar ones are always rather exciting to see). Unless things really go in the toilet again (and probably even if), I should reach my first payout threshold this month!

I followed PK' s advice about only showing ads on certain domains and now I'm getting the message that another domain is showing my ads. Is there any way of finding out what sites they are?

No, that's a real message. Here's how to see what it means:
adsense.com -> "Account Settings" -> "Access and authorization" section.
Hover/click on the '?' for 'Site Management' if you don;t yet have the message – you'll note that this section will highlight when unauthorized sites click ads. That section let's you set which domains are allowed, and when you're under attack just set the domain to something like 'yahoo.com', heh.
Anyway, ads will show up on some other sites – Google, for one (must be from caching or something?). Just give it some time and only approve those that 'make sense'.
