I guess I shouldn't complain.  After the longest time I actually have a PR.

But I have seen somethings that are confusing to me, and I wonder if I could get some help.

If you go to the ThadThoughts.com home page, and do a PR ranking, I get a PR of 1.

But if you go to one of my posts, say this one on iPhone Productivity Apps and do a PR check, you'll see a 2.

Can someone help me understand why that is like that?

Not being an expert, here are my thoughts.

- PR is something per page. Thus it can be possible that a page with a certain post has a higher PR than the home page.

- I think that Google uses PR to indicate authority on a certain topic. A post on a specific topic may therefore have a higher PR than a general page like the home page.

- Google probably uses an algorithm that defines how relevant incoming and outgoing links are to a certain page for a certain topic (recent social media links may influence this as well) and therefore give your post page a higher PR than the home page.

Okay, thanks for getting me educated.  I thought it was site specific, but this makes sense.
