For the past month, I have irregularly been getting pingbacks from a site called FinancePlanet.info The site itself is in Dutch, but it is posting the first paragraph of random posts from my food blog with a link back to the post on my site. They don't seem to rank for any keywords and they have no PageRank.

Is it worth my time to do anything about them, or is it harmless?

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I was having the same question Edward. I've gotten a couple of these myself the last month or so and wondered what, if anything, could be done about it.

DMCA! Submit a takedown request to their host and Google.

Yeah, I've had to do that before, but I'm not sure if it's worth my time for a site that is only scraping a paragraph and then links back to my site.

I have been getting daily pingbacks from multiple sites with an excerpt of my content and a link back to my site.  while I could do a takedown attempt, I don't see this as an issue because it is only pulling a small piece of the content and then linking back to my site.  Until they start outranking me, I am not going to deal with it.  So far, it has been over 75 sites doing this with just a few of my posts.

Usually, in a case like that, I just leave it alone. I'm not sure if that is the best thing to do, but I usually don't have the time for such a light offense.

I've wondered the same thing. If they are linking back to your site can it be harmful in any way?

I know Google will take into account the quality of your back-links. So far, I haven't seen a negative affect from them. 20% growth this month, anyone?

Would love 20% growth per month!! I don't do much about those links, but have been looking into Google disavow links feature and it looks like it can do what you need.
