Can anyone recommend a good tax withholding calculator? We had a baby in July and bought a house in October. We lowered our exemptions for 2015, but now I'm trying to figure out what they need to be in 2016. The IRS calculator only tries to minimize your refund. Using their calculator would give us a $75 refund IF the assumptions on income I used hold true.

My wife works anywhere between 35 and 55 hours per week. I work between 25 and 65 hours. Plus, I published one book in November and have four more planned for this year, so no way of predicting online income.

TurboTax has another calculator. Theirs is supposed to show you options choosing between a bigger return and a bigger paycheck, but after filling in all the information it requested, the slider won't work in any browser, so I can only see what the refund would be with zero exemptions: $4000. I'd like some buffer against extra income but not quite that much. :)

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon
