Todd, I love the welcome tab on your fb page. How did you put that together? Was it a lot of work? Currently, I only have my Aweber signup form as the welcome.

Hi Khaleef, thanks. It's not that difficult at all. I just used simple HTML to code it in and adjusted as needed for FB's sometimes strange coding language. I'm not a coder but have picked up a few things from keeping my website clean.

Here are two links that will get you started: http://mashable.com/2010/02/22…..ding-page/ and http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/c…..lcome-tab/

The travel and lifestyle blogs use this format quite a bit as we need to really introduce our blogs and our concepts/ tell our story to almost everyone or visits. I wish I had a title as easy as Finances etc. There is a lot that can be done here and I love how some of the members have incorporated a e-mail course or blog sign up into their welcome pages. Really smart to offer something useful right off the bat. I think I will try this out as well as I have a free ebook coming out soon (through lonely planet along with 39 other bloggers).

If you need any help let me know. I also just connected with you on twitter.

cheers,

Todd

We're having real issues getting people to like our page so any help would be great.  Of our 49 friends (bloggers except for 2) only 14 have liked our page.  Some like love would be great!

I typically find more engagement on Twitter then I do on Facebook. Is this just me?

Hey Bank Guru, I just liked your FB page (@SPF, I liked you a while ago)! I love your landing page, I still haven't had any time to put up something (besides my Aweber form).

Thing is, while I bumped this thread I don't see either new poster (KNS has been our friend for a long time!) having liked our page!

Same thing happened w/ the whole reviews on alexa.

People – give and you WILL receive. Simply posting after someone else does, without actually supporting that person, won't do you any good.  I bumped the thread hoping for some love, see a few posts follow up but neither person bothers to like us?  Where is our motivation to click your link? (we "like" a lot of people atm – many that don't follow us back)

Just to make sure I'm not getting fussed at, I've checked and have "Liked" SPF since the first week you joined the Facebook Pages group – not everyone blew you off.  :-)

If anyone wants to "like" it, great!  However, i really don't care to just have just numbers.  I want people who like my site and its content to stay connected.  It does me no good to have X number of FB friends/likes if most of them have no real connection to what I am saying.

Should being the keyword.  I've read a few people who just don't use Facebook (I didn't know those people existed :) )  and those who don't have a separate account for their blog and don't want their real identity known.  (I know who you are Clark Kent!)  All that said, I don't see why we shouldn't be able to get 50+ likes from the folks at Yakezie!  I've tried to like all of the people who have posted theirs here.

Liked ya!

Much more engagement on twitter but I think it is important to get the Digg, Stumbleupon and FB going as well.  Some people don't care about one type of social media or another (I never had a twitter acct prior to blogging!).  And ironically, I recently deleted my personal facebook acct!

I think most of the "big guys" have good followings all over the place.

I think I've managed to like everyone who posted their page here. For those of you who don't want your personal account linked to your site…you can now "use Facebook as your page" so you can like a page using your page's identity – it won't increase the "like" total, but it will show up on your fan page.
