Hi all,
We all have a different goals with our blogs, but how important is fame for you? Just curious. Was catching up on some reading. Some successful people are famous while others are completely unknown to the general public. Which one would you want to be?
Thanks!

Hello!
I would like to be mostly unknown. I have had several people identify me in public in Houston (I've been on the news interviewing a few times), and it was flattering, but if it was more than just a few, I might not like it. I always think that it would suck to be President or to be famous becaues it limits your life so much!

Cool, I know a celebrity!
Seriously, maybe it's an age thing. When I was younger I think I would have choosen the fame. Now, I can see why it would be kind of a hassle. Must be getting old, just like when I hear young people making too much noise. Bah Humbug!

I'd take both ;-)
but I would rather be rich than known (compared to being known and poor! lol!).
I've had my picture in a newspaper and a business magazine. It was fun but not as fun as making money from my blogs!

I'd take good fame for my blog, and maybe some for me I suppose….but prefer the money:)
Making a difference for others while making money in the process seems like a winning combination for me. What works for me might not be ideal for others, I suppose it's a matter of individual preference.

I think the biggest thing for me is learning new things and helping others achieve their goals.

Maybe a little bit of anonymous fame in the blogging world, but I'd prefer to take the fortune. ;)

I would love for my site to become "famous", but of course making money is much more important!

I would take both. Like most, I pick money before fame, but I am not one to shy from the spotlight.

How much?
A small amount of fame has more utility than a small amount of money, but a large amount of money means I can skip the middleman alltogether.

good question, and never really thought about it that way.
maybe the next Mel Gibson or Julia Roberts can come out of the blogging world. Too bad Bollywood is already taken by the Indians. How does Blogywood sound?

Thanks all. Lot of fortune over fame! With a few who wouldn't mind the spotlight. Would your answers have been radically different when you were younger?

Doubt it, but at 35 I don't consider myself OLD yet!
I think if you had blogging fame, fortune would follow. I guess, as JT alluded to, fortune has to be defined.

I'm really not interested in fame which is kind of why I don't blog or socialise online through my real name…. Keeps me distanced.

Fortune. Fame has too many downsides. I would never want to be monica lewinski for example, even if it enabled her to launch a line of stuff.
