Hello everybody!

I have recently joined the Yakezie website and am quite interested in meeting like minded people who share my passion for finance, investing and life in general!  I am totally new at this whole blog thing, and am trying to figure it all out, and have no clue what im doing!

Little about me: my name is Benjamin and I live in Vancouver BC, Canada, and have enjoyed learning about personal finance and investing for quite some time! I have recently started my website in the hopes of educating some of my younger friends in the art of personal finance!

If anybody has any advice, or wisdom they would like to share as I begin my project, that would be greatly appreciated!  If anybody would like more information about me, my website or have a website that I could take a look at please let me know!

Thanks, and I look forward to being a part of this community!

Benjamin

Hi Benjamin!  Welcome!  Oh boy, you'll pick up a ton about blogging just by actually doing it, but here are some things it took me a little too long to pick up:

1)  Categories and Tags are your friend – use them early on to save yourself hours of work in the future.

2)  Link to older posts as they become useful in your newer ones.  I completely blew off inner-site link love until recently and kick myself because now I'm going back and spending a long time on it.

3)  Comment all over the place.  I think almost all my readers found me through other blogs or the Yakezie, lol.

4)  Submit to carnivals.  Blog carnivals also help you get your name out there.

5)  Reply to your commenters.  I stop reading and commenting on blogs that I don't get replies from in the first few weeks.

6)  *Shameless plug*  Guest Post all over the place – yet another way to become known and I have some openings to fill in December.  :-)

There are millions of little things that you'll get into, but I hope those help.  Good luck!

Crystal
