Hi guys!  I feel like I haven't been here in forever. Eight weeks ago I entered a Biggest Loser challenge at my gym and have lost 18 lbs already! Unfortunately, the time required to work out that much, plan meals carefully, etc, doesn't leave any time for maintaining a blog.  I didn't plan on it originally, but for the past six weeks I've taken a hiatus from WhatMommyDoes.

I used to blog late at night after the kids went to bed, but now I can't force myself to stay awake long enough to do that! I found the energy two weeks ago to work on the blog, but you know what?  I only lost .2 lbs that week. :( Apparently I wasn't working out hard enough. I realize now I need to focus on my weight loss journey first to keep up my motivation. I could slow down and lose more slowly, but I know myself well enough to know I won't be happy with that.

I'm going to keep going with my weight loss journey once the competition is over in two weeks, so I most likely won't have much time for blogging for several more months. Just thought I'd check in and let you guys know I haven't dropped off the face of the earth and plan on picking up where I left off when I have a bit more time.

Hopefully I'll see a bunch of you at FinCon2013 where I'll be 60 lbs lighter than where I started! Wish me luck!!!

Best of luck! I really don't have an excuses because being out of work frees up 55-60 hours a week compared when I was working. How do I have an extra 11 hours per day and still run out of time to get everything done?

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I know exactly what you mean. My websites have suffered a lot since I got serious about losing weight. Congratulations on dropping the 18lbs! Laugh

Thanks, guys! Edward – there always seems to be "one more thing" to work on, right? Khaleef – Oh no…are you going to have to change your slogan?! Skinny Guy, Skinny Wallet might sound like bragging.  LOL

Good luck; I am probably going to be back to being fit for FinCon as well. But generally I agree with you – becoming a rotund writer (have a look at most of them) is one of the risks involved in blogging. What I started doing is I dictate ideas and rough articles while out running (which lasts a long time now with two hour sessions). Works for me and may be worth a try.

Whoa! 2-hour sessions?!!  Are you training for a race? I'm doing a 12-week weight training program from BodyBuilding.com – Jamie Eason's Live Fit Trainer.  Loving it so far and I'm in Week 7.

Yes, I would like to do an ultra event in 12 to 18 months. And I am doing the training where you train for a long time at low intensity.

I think this might have already been said, but when I run, I find it to be a good time to clear my head and think of new ideas.  Can't say I would be able to do that in working out with weights or other types of intense cardio.

Since money is always my great motivator, I just think of the potential medical bills I am saving and saving money on food by not eating out.

…come to think of it, I need to write a post about it.

Congrats on your excellent progress!
