I broke 400,000! I am at 399,721 today. I started yakezie a little less than two months ago and I am dropping in the alexa ratings like a stone. It is amazing. I've had a guest post, been put on many blog rolls, been in a regular carnival and the challengers carnival. It has been a great ride. I wonder what is going to happen in the next 4 months?

I went from 7.5M to 2M just in the past week since joining Yakezie. You guys are great! It's also been more enjoyable to write, since my traffic is up. I feel the pressure to write better posts.

I feel the same way, I'm also getting comments on my posts which help a lot.

Hey everyone, thanks for the continued warm receptions. Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. Had a blow-up with headspace2 and couldn't get any help from the developer so I had to get a new plug-in and configure the whole thing (guess it's not always such a smart thing to upgrade right away!), plus work and writing has kept me pretty busy.
I've certainly been noticing the Alexa ranking drop considerably, even though my inbound link numbers haven't changed in a month, but i'm looking at it like a marathon, not a sprint so gradual changes in a positive direction are always a good sign.

Thank you, everyone for the warm welcomes. And thanks to Frugal Studentfor the compliments on my blog, plus congratualtions on being under 400k on your Alexa ranking! I know how hard you've been working at this.
Sorry I'm not on here often. I'm stuck with IE7 at work, which doesn't handle this page very well, and once I get home in the evenings, I'm lucky if I have time to read through my FaceBook. (For some odd reason, the hubby wants to spend time doing things together, and being on our respective computers at the same time doesn't count. :-p )
I have a writing critique group every other Sunday, and I think I'm going to try and devote the Sunday mornings I'm not at critique to coming here and doing work in my blogs (adding people to blog rolls, etc.) I know once every two weeks isn't often, but as FMV posted about on her blog earlier this week, routines are a good thing, and that's a routine I can manage.
I do read blog posts pretty much every day and try to comment often. I just won't be here (or doing maintenance to my blogs) all the time.
If you feel the need to get ahold of me, send a note to my email. That gets checked multiple times a day and I'm pretty good at responding.
My Alexa ranking has also been dropping. It was over 7.5 million when I started and in just a week, its been cut in half (more than half, actually). Now I just need to cut it in half 4 more times in order to make the 200k goal.

Welcome Eric, always glad to see new challengers! inbound links only update once every 3 months I believe. I know I have only been updated two times, and I installed Alexa 6 months ago.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm watching the ranking go down and down but the inbounds stay the same so I keep thinking there must be something wrong. But if the data isn't updated regularly, especially when Google Webmaster Tools shows has a much larger number, then that must be the answer. Kind of like not putting all of your eggs in one basket looking at Alexa as the ultimate guide of site popularity.

Way to go all of you on the huge alexa drops – it gets harder once you get close, but keep on working and you'll get there!
