Welcome to all the new challengers – great way to start out the new year! I'm really enjoying checking out your sites, there is some seriously great info out there – hopefully more and more people will become personal finance nerds like everyone here and we can turn this economic situation around! :)

Very well said.  Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to get to know some great people.

I have a financial situation that might be fun to put out there.  I am looking into it now.

Hi Everyone.  I just joined the Yakezie challenge.  I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you as we crush it up to the top 200,000!  I'll check out your blogs, twitters, etc. tonight.  I hope you all enjoy my site, twitter and facebook (I have 3 sad and lonely likes on facebook as of today…).  I'd appreciate any feedback on my twitter, facebook and blog!  No hurt feelings.

As of this morning, my alexa ranking is 1,258,303 (140,800 for US, would be cool to see that for the worldwide…).

Hey everyone! I'm still trying to figure things out here.

My blog debuted in July 2011, but I neglected it for quite a while. I have been posting regularly since December 31. I'm wondering if it's too late for me to get in on the challenge (I just found out about and signed up for Yakezie today).

Either way – I think you all are a great group of folks! :-)

As you can see below, my Alexa Rank is TERRIBLE right now. I feel like I have SUCH a long way to go…

My goal is to post to my blog at least 3x a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). I have been meeting that so far, though it's only been a short time.

Here's my web address:

Don't worry…almost everyone has a disheartening Alexa score when they start.

Hi! I'm somewhat new to this forum — my first post here was to get some feelers on selling my site. That was a big fail, on actually selling it. But, some good came from it. I found this forum, networked with some new-to-me PF bloggers, and have a renewed interest in growing and developing my site.

I'm Kacie and I've been blogging at sensetosave.com since Sept. 2007. I've had a steady readership, but it hasn't grown. In fact, last year when I started blogging about 529 plans I lost a big chunk of subscribers. I was really discouraged, to say the least.

My 2011 blog income was my best year yet though, right around the $10k mark. My ad model is almost exclusively sidebar text links.

For 2012 and on, I want to:

- Take my Alexa ranking from 462,006 today (1/14/12) and break in the top 200k so I can be an official member here

- Diversify my income streams. Keep the text links going, and improve affiliate and Adsense

- Expand my readership.

- Make the best use of my blogging time. I want to get a lot of bang for my buck without spending gobs of time on the computer. I'm a SAHM and I need to make sure my kids don't remember their little years with me glued to the computer all the time.

My readership isn't nearly as engaged in my site as they once were. I used to get lots of comments on posts (30-50+!), and now I have to really beg for discussion.

I don't know if my PF goals have changed, and that's now a turn-off to my current readers or what the deal is. Still trying to figure that out. When I started, I was big on frugality and saving money. Now I'm out of non-mortgage debt and I'm looking to improve my investments and grow my net worth.

I'm participating in the  challenge, where a bunch of bloggers are working their way through ProBloggers 31 days to a better blog ebook. This launches on Monday.

I'm also privately working through a few ebooks on ways to tweak and improve my site.

SO. All this to say, my six months starts today and will be up on July 14. I added the button to my site and I'll announce my participation inside my next post. Looking forward to learning from you all!

- Kacie

Hi everyone! I just put up my Alexa ranking (2,119,130) and the Yakezie Challenge Badge on my site, Budget for Health. I was in the 5,000,000s when I started my site a month ago, so I've seen improvement but hope to see that number get lower over the next 6 months.

I'm a Registered Dietitian, so most of my writing is about practical, applicable nutrition topics. Physical and financial fitness are also great priorities in my life, so you'll see some posts about that too. My husband & I got married in May 2010 and started our first careers this past summer. We started paying off our $28k of student loans in June with full force and currently have $8k left! I hope you'll be celebrating with us when we make that final payment in April!

I'm looking forward to meeting many of you and learning more about the blogging world!

I just joined with a dismal Alexa ranking: 6,282,31. I'll be working on getting a better rank!
