Well, I thought I joined here as a challenger a while back but since I'm not on the official list of challengers, I'll just go ahead and say it! This is my official official announcement that I'm joining the challenge! My alexa ranking is 1,156,285 as of now. I've gotten to know some of you guys already and I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of you! My name is Tessa and I live in a small college town in the south. I work at a bank (I swear I'm not a bad guy!) and I've got a couple of side gigs too. I like to write about my obsessive budgeting, trying to save money, stupid people, and trying to keep up with the lofty goals I set for myself. If anyone has any advice to offer, it is definitely welcomed! I'm still pretty new to all this and I"m constantly learning!

Best of luck to all of you!!! Laugh

Hi everyone!  I just decided to join the Yakezie Challenge and installed my Alexa toolbar today.  My current rank is 3,721,125.  My husband and I launched our blog last November and I'm already enjoying posting and interacting with other bloggers.

We chose our blog name, evolvingPF, to reflect that we expect to go through many financial transitions in the next few years as we get our PhDs, leave North Carolina, and possibly procreate.  On the blog we discuss money-related topics as they relate to our family.  We are, I've observed, rather low-income-earners among PF bloggers so our writing is definitely colored by that perspective!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Yakezie Members and Challengers,

My name is Kari and I'm a 29 year old Licensed Master Social Worker, living and working in the Metro NYC area. I'm not new to blogging, but I am new to personal finance blogging. My newest blog, Small Budget Big Dreams, is where I plan to share my tips and tricks for living on a budget, saving money, and achieving big dreams on a small budget. I don't have a formal background in finance, but living on a social worker's salary has certainly taught me a thing or two about frugal living, budgeting, and saving.

I'm really proud and humbled to be a part of the Yakezie community and I look forward to getting to know all of you!

My Alexa rank is 3,065,657, Down from 6,568,708 when I launched last week.

My name is Addie I'm 25 years old and out of college with my first real life adult job. Now that I'm an official adult I figure it's time to pay off my student loans and my credit cards that I amassed during my college career. I started to blog partially to hold myself accountable in not accruing any more debt than I already have.

My alexa rating is over 7 million Embarassed

Thanks Financial Samurai for initiating the Yakezie challenge. I just added the badge to my site and I'm ready to role.

Last year I started a finance blog at SharedFinancialSuccess.com and saw some success. Then I spent the next 8 months working overtime non stop (at a car rental company) and lost the energy to keep posting.

With my work schedule back within reasonable hours I am rededicating myself to blog consistently and get within the top 200,000 of Alexa within 6 months.

Right now my blogs is ranked just under six million, which sounds awful but I'm not too worried. When I was writing consistently last year I saw my ranking drop quickly. In fact, recently I made a few SEO changes and without writing any new content dropped two million spots in Alexa in two weeks.

Alexa is over rated (and not a reliable ranking system, certainly not what mega sites and advertisers use) but this community seems to be where the value is really at.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and reading your blogs. Smile

I love bouncing around new ideas and talking about money. You can find me at SharedFinancialSuccess.com. If you have any ideas, advice, or would like to chat feel free to contact me anytime.

Hi Everyone.

We joined the challenge a few weeks ago, and have been really reading and enjoying many of the new and existing blogs that are out there.  We moved from Blogger to Wordpress, and have been seeing our Alexa ranking steadily dropping (we're almost below 1 million.. Wooo!)

Is there a list of challengers that is posted somewhere on the site?  I would really like to look through some of the other sites that are just getting started, much like ours, to see if we can help each other out with guest posts and/or blogroll link exchanges.

Keep up the great work everyone! .. We have a bunch of article ideas floating around, so if anyone would be willing to let us guest post.. Please let me know :)

Hello everyone.  I announced earlier in the week that I had started a 2nd blog, this one called Tie the Money Knot. It's a personal finance blog that will cover a range of topics, but will contain a lot of discussion on money and relationships.

Anyway, I've decided to enter Tie the Money Knot in the challenge! The blog currently has an Alexa ranking of 890,566.

Looking forward to this 2nd go around as a challenger!

Hey all.

A few years ago, I had a few relatively decent personal finance and investing sites. Since I worked at a Big Four accounting firm, I spent a number of nights each week in hotels rooms hundreds of miles from home. As such, writing content was a great way to blow off some steam after a long day of looking at financial statements.

Once I left that job, I found another 4 miles from my house. After a few months of working 'human hours', I rediscovered that I married perhaps the coolest girl on the planet. How she put up with me being away so much is still a mystery to me. In an effort to focus on my family, I pretty much let all of my sites die a slow painful death. Even though they were small (PR 3 or less) they developed a relatively decent following.

Fast forward six years…..my oldest son is now 5, we were blessed with another son 10 months ago, and I am still married to the hottest, most loving woman on the planet. The only problem is that I do not have anyone to talk to about personal finance. I know that sounds strange but I love this stuff. My wife, on the other hand, simply could not care less.

With that being said, I have decided to join the challenge in order to network with other similarly minded bloggers. My Alexa ranking is a staggering 15,395,344. I have not found any site that had a higher starting rank so I certainly have my work cut out for me.

Over the next few weeks, my goal is to establish a healthy publishing schedule and create a bunch of guest posts to get the ball rolling. I am not sure if I will be able to get my ranking below 200,000 in six months but I am going to have fun trying Cool

Do we use the US rank or the global rank?

I recently joined the Yakezie challenge and am at 4,370,221 globally.  I have a lot of work ahead, but am looking forward to the challenge!

My initial rank started at 20 million.  It is down to 2 million now.  It happened in 3 days after joining the Yakezie network. I want to thank everyone that goes to my site and drops me a line.  And if you havent been there take a look!
